North Shore Health & Rehab Facility

My mother used to be a resident there, after switching nursing homes I was nervous to send her anywhere, however I’m extremely happy with the way she was being treated there, especially in the actives department. She was more outgoing than ever before and I had visibly seen a change in her behavior and personality. The women in that department have no idea how much they have changed my mother’s experience. I highly recommend this place to absolutely everyone. The activities kept my mother happy and busy, this was such an important time in her life and I couldn’t be more satisfied!!

Mom spent a month here after breaking her hip. With her severe cognitive impairment and recovering from anesthesia mom needed two people to help her get out of bed (she weighs 100 lbs). Today she is able to walk down a long corridor using as walker and is moving back to her memory care facility. She has a nice private room here and received therapy twice a day five days per week. The staff all knew her name and gave her s such loving care. The food was not gourmet but it was fine. The administrator was so helpful with insurance as well. I We were very pleased with this whole experience.

I love this facility and would recommend it! The staff has been so kind to my mother, my family and me. My mother loves the food and they offer her so many extras I have really been impressed. The cleaning staff is so polite and keeps the rooms and entire center looking and smelling great. Everyone looks you in the eye and greets you with kindness and is always ready to help. It's a great center with great customer service.

Northshore is an excellent place for your family members to live. They work really hard to take care of their residents and have lots of activities planned for the people who live there and make sure all residents get to activities if they want to. The food is pretty darn good, too. From the director of nursing, medical director, nursing staff, CNA's to housekeeping, cooks, they have all been wonderful. I also can't say enough about the activities department staff. I've worked in nursing homes over the years and I know what good care looks like. Thank you Northshore for taking such good care of my Mom. I can't thank you enough. Rose Epperly

One star is too high for a rating. This facility is absolutely horrific. My Mom was treated absolutely terrible. I have photos to show how they sent my Mom out to a follow up Dr appointment in 30 degree weather with no jacket (not even a sweater), hair not brushed, in a dirty nightgown, with no medical records, chart notes or supplies for her Dr to change her open wound. The Dr & MA were disgusted & I was mortified. My Mom was verbally abused by a CNA (that was fired) but I was never told by staff what happened. My Mom had to call to advise me. The administrative/financial team was ignorant to the process of the Medicaid application. This caused my Mom thousands of dollars to be paid directly to the facility as private pay. A financial employee had to be fired due to her gross negligence of understanding this process. I would say this actually boarders on “elderly financial abuse”. The food was atrocious and they ran out daily. I would not eat the food they served. The time it took to get my mom moved to a new facility took a heartbreaking four weeks. The new ownership was nothing but a nightmare. Our family will be forever traumatized from the treatment my Mom endured. This is a woman who is fully verbal and I can’t imagine what they do to those who cannot speak. I would not recommend this facility to take care of a $5 plant let alone any loved family member.
