Yesterday I left the center. I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone that was attentive to me. Everyone was so caring and loving and affectionate in my treatment during my stay with them. It was almost 2 months under their care. Always everything was so great and the attention was so great with the patients. The cleanliness was extraordinary. The food was always on time, and the medication administered by them. This is my second time at this center. I would like to recommend to everyone this place with my eyes closed. The physical therapists were so great, professional, and very motivated. I felt like I was at home. I want to thank specifically the nurse that was taking care of me. Her name is Yamilet Lopez. She was my guardian angel. Always looking out for me. Always treating me with love, compassion and dedication. Her care was exceptional as well as her advice. Thank you again and I love you all.

The worst thing I ever did was put my father here. He was NOT supposed to get an infection and end up dying. He got pneumonia in this horrible location. He was here to get rehabilitated not end up like this. This place is filled with false advertisement and expectations. I blame myself for never getting my dad out of here thinking he would get better. Between this place and Jackson West- where he was taken to - they killed my father. Everyone here in Palmetto subacute is complete garbage.

This place is awful and very unprofessional. My mother had a very invasive surgery, and was in ICU for 8 days. At the hospital she was mobile walking to the bathroom with assistance, and walking in the hallways with the Physical therapists. The doctor said she would benefit from some physical therapy rehab to get stronger. The moment she got to Palmetto subacute Rehab they put a diaper on her and told her she had to do her necessities I the diaper, not to get out of bed. I told the nurse that she's ok to walk to the bathroom with assistance, I was told the following day physical therapy was going to accessed her and decide her limitations. The next day, Saturday, she was access by physical therapy, and was told she will start her one hour therapy on Monday. She still was wearing a diaper, and was still bed ridden. even for her meals she was in bed not even taken to a dinning room or not even able to sit in a chair. this is a very humiliating situation for a person that was very active, and even driving before the surgery. How can she get better, thrown in a bed for 23 hours and only one hour physical therapy. After 24 hrs. I signed my mom out AMA. Even the workers talk very loud, and the pts are screaming in the hallway to be helped, the workers just laugh an don't assist them . This place its a nightmare!!!

Palmetto Subacute Care Center – Coral Way
If you value the well-being of your loved ones, avoid Palmetto Subacute Care Center at all costs. My mother’s experience here was a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share the horrifying negligence she suffered.
My mother was admitted to this facility after a serious health ordeal. Right from the start, I had concerns about the quality of care, and unfortunately, my worst fears were confirmed. Despite my complaints to the administration, they repeatedly failed to provide basic patient care. One morning, I discovered that they had left my elderly mother soaked in urine all night, completely neglected.
But the nightmare didn’t end there. When I visited my mom later that day, she looked extremely pale and weak. Her caregiver informed me that she had been complaining of chest pain all day, but the staff ignored it, dismissing her symptoms because her vitals appeared “fine.” While trying to cheer her up by putting on her makeup, she suddenly became unresponsive—completely lifeless. No pulse, no reaction. I panicked and ran to get the nurse, who casually took her time to respond and arrived without any medical equipment. For several agonizing minutes, my mother remained unresponsive while the nurse struggled without the necessary tools.
When my mother finally came to, she was in severe pain, clutching her chest and struggling to breathe. Despite this, the staff refused to call 911, insisting they needed a doctor’s approval. I couldn’t believe their disregard for her life. I had to take matters into my own hands and call 911 myself.
The paramedics arrived and took my mother to Jackson South in Doral, where they conducted tests but didn’t have a neurosurgeon on-site. They transferred her by ambulance to Kendall Hospital, where they finally confirmed she had a pulmonary embolism—a life-threatening condition. If I hadn’t been there to advocate for her, my mother would have died under their so-called “care.”
This facility failed my mother in every way possible. They neglected her basic hygiene, ignored her life-threatening symptoms, dismissed my concerns, and showed a complete lack of urgency even in a medical emergency. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Palmetto Subacute Care Center to anyone who values the safety and dignity of their loved ones.
