My mother came alive when we moved her to South Bay's Memory Care. They have an awesome staff ... Well funded i.e. there are plenty of them on site every day. I get picture updates and when I drop in to visit unannounced Mom is almost always engaged in something, gardening, playing, group social, dancing. Highly recommend this facilty
My Aunt has been there for about 3 years. There have been ups and downs. Sabrina Washington, the new activities director, has been a definite plus in working with and respecting the residents. The improvement in the quality of life since Sabrina has been in this role has greatly improved. My Aunt's and other resident engagement is apparent. Looking forward to more improvements to come.
Shem Creek at South Bay is a gorgeous community filled with loving residents. The atmosphere when you enter the facility makes you feel like home and I would love to have my family member stay here. The staff is always smiling and interacting with the residents. 100% would recommend this facility to ANYONE for their loved one.
I'm actively engaged in the community and continually impressed by the exceptional upkeep and management of the facility. The staff is consistently welcoming, and the grounds are always beautifully maintained. Clare at the front desk is incredibly helpful, Kellye in sales is always a friendly presence, and Candy is constantly working to enhance Shem in any way possible. I highly recommend Shem Creek if you are looking for a clean, safe, and fun place to live.
Head nurse is very unkind. I overheard him speaking to the staff in a rude and dismissive way. I was sitting with a patient and I remember saying to myself that once my shift was over, I was not coming back. Respect and compassion are especially important in a nursing home environment, and I really hope that he is addressed.
