I work in Home health as Chaplain and frequently visit various facilities to offer support. Waterside Health and Rehab has shown major improvement. The staff were welcoming and greeted me as I traveled through the building. The facility had a nice clean environment. The Social Services Director, Khadijah, always takes the time to acknowledge my visit and discuss current or upcoming discharge needs to ensure families are aware of available services. Overall, my experience has been very positive, and I would recommend Waterside Health and Rehab for placement.

Home Away from Home My mother was transferred to the specialty unit at Waterside Rehab and Nursing because at that time I wanted her to have more, Respiratory care. I wanted my mother to be back to her norm and home with me, even though, my mother had just adjusted to another nursing facility and was thriving. My mother taught me to not give up so another difficult decision was made to transfer to her to another facility; almost 30 minutes away from our family. Once again, that fear of the unknown brought tears. BUT I quickly realized I still had my faith, supporters and more to come on this new journey. I’ll never forget the words of their Social Services Director, “Don’t worry, I got your mom!” Those words simple but powerful and comforting. The Social Services Director and Assistant were involved in her daily care, Care plans, Discharge planning with compassion and empathetic. Thank You Social Services Department

they neglected my grandpa so bad, everyday that i went to visit he was in worse shape than the last until he couldn’t be neglected anymore and they have sent no condolences since he passed in september. (the bare minimum) this facility cares about the money, not your loved ones. not to mention the place smells absolutely horrible its unbearable. How does a STAGE 4 bedsore happen when you are supposed to be moving your patients every couple hours?

If you are reading this, you are probably faced with a tough decision about a loved one. If possible, I’d encourage you to look elsewhere. The facility is old and dirty, the equipment is basic and there is a constant smell of urine and feces. My dad was a resident from May 2025 until he passed in September 2025. One week after he got to Waterside, he was admitted to the hospital due to the neglect of the Nurse Practitioner who did not understand how to provide an adequate level of care for my father’s injury. My dad complained about how the staff treated him often. Mostly about how his calls were ignored and how his therapy was inconsistent. I visited 5 or 6 days out of each week and witnessed the lack of care and concern first hand. Unfortunately, we had few options for other facilities due to my dad’s injuries. To their credit, the unit manager always listened to my concerns and addressed them promptly. Much of the staff seems to be overworked and untrained. There is a lot of turnover which provides an opportunity for mistakes to happen. My father was in active death for at least a month but the staff missed the signs. He was in a state of delirium and would yell out for help. I witnessed the staff ignoring him. I’m grateful that he was sent to the hospital for what Waterside thought was a possible stroke. Turns out he was just in the final stages of death which the hospital recognized immediately and called me to his bedside so I could be with him for his final moments.

Well I came to this facility with many issues, but everyone was caring and understanding. A shout out the the nurses, CNA's, Respirtory staff, and the entire Therapy Group. Once my Respirtory issues were done, the Therapy group got me motivated to get stronger and better. I have now happily graduated from all therapy's and about to move on from here.
