PALM GARDEN OF OCALA

This place may look polished on the surface but what I witnessed was anything but caring. My mother was admitted and within one day she was hysterical, crying, confused, and left without basic care. She returned to the ER in the middle of the night. And for six hours the next day, I never saw her assigned nurse. When I finally identified her, she was sitting behind a computer, smug and dismissive. She never delivered the medication my mother needed to help. Staff acted like they were above accountability, cold, oblivious, and completely unconcerned with any cries for help. I repeatedly voiced concerns about my mother's physical and mental state and they were ignored. Her decline was visible and urgent, yet staff acted as if nothing was wrong. I even had my friend come down to help me advocate for her because the situation was so alarming and I wasn't being heard. While my mother was in visible distress, I was approached by a woman who asked a series of questions, including how my mother voted. When I said I didn't know she continued to press me about it. They even made an alarming attempt to politicize and profile her. This was deeply disturbing and completely irrelevant to her care. When I returned to retrieve her belongings, no one knew where they were. It was a total circus. The man helping me look said they already had someone in her bed and her belongings were gone. It took over an hour to find her belongings. I truly believe that if I hadn't intervened my mother's life would have been at risk. She likely would have never made it out of the Palm Garden of Hell. Zero Stars!!!!!

Palm Gardens staff violated power of attorney they had on file, and they allowed my dad to be checked out after 6pm by family members despite him being very confused at night. Staff stated the dad was of sound mind so my power of attorney wasn't in effect but allowed another family member to obtain and use power of attorney to check my dad out of the facility. No medical staff evaluated my dads mental state despite requests and the ignored any and all hospital paperwork that transfered him to Palm Gardens in the first place. They then allowed power of attorney to be executed by a staff member that was also a family member, despite denial of previous power of attorney paperwork. This facility refused to release medical records even with police present after previously mentioned family member stole money from my elderly dad's account. No action was taken to stop this family member because he works at the facility. I would never allow any family member you care about to enter this facility for any reason. This facility is being named in a law suit and we are going to have an emergency hearing court over their decision. They reply to this review asking us to call them. I was on the phone for hours with their social services staff named Charlene, and upper management, Waylee. The folks were aware of power of attorney and assured no changes would be made without prior notice. They lied out right. They will transfer you around and around and deny deny deny.

The staff is very cordial. Last night was a wonderful event for all residents and family.

Visiting this facility was a refreshing experience. Upon my entrance the air was extra Fresh and everything smelled and look extremely clean. I visited my aging friend and was exceptionally impressed with the way his room was kept as well. It had a very clean smell with a beautiful window view displaying the flowers. The staff was very kind, willing to help, warm, and friendly. My friends family was there and they were very pleased with his treatment as well as they would attend meetings down the hall concerning his continued healthcare plan in an organized manner. This facility was amazing.

My husband and I were very impressed with your staff and workers today. We were there to visit a dear friend and not only the staff but everyone including the cleaning workers were so pleasant and the place was sparkly clean. The residents that were out in their wheel chairs in the hallway seemed happy and looked very comfortable. I was impressed with their therapist who were doing therapy on the weekend. Most places don't do therapy on weekends Palm Gardens is a great choice for your love one to get the care and rehab that they need.
