The announcement that this place is being shut down should have happened years and years ago .No matter how many times there was a name change, or new management, the place was still a dump. Resident care was so poor because of the shortage of workers, not having enough supplies….Im a life long resident of this area and it never changed, it just got worse. We used to have to hide wash clothes and towels IF we found them, in order to take care of our residents. I’m glad to see that the state, instead of giving them a tap on the hand, finally did the right thing for those residents who had to live there. I hope that where ever they are placed that their days will be much better. No elderly person should have had to live like that!

Horrific place and if I could rate it -100 I would. . I would not recommend anyone bring their loved ones here. I would treat a dog better than they treat these folks. My mom was here- the neglect was beyond, (feeding, bathing, no/ providing any kind of warmth and human kindness, no/ yelling at the patients,yes/ losing the patients while there, absolutely. Infections not treated yes/ Not keeping records , no/horrible quality of food and if patients dont feed themselves they are going to bed that night with no food, witnessed it many times. My experience culminated in my poor mother after asking aides to please keep an eye that she doesnt fall, that same night she fell broke her hip and her thumb. For 15 hours they didnt get her to a medical facility she laid in bed in pain all night. The final result of their lack of care was they took a person who could walk, eat on her own, used the toilet reliably- they turned her into a person who was no longer mobile, physically much worse off than when she went in, and neglected her hideously. All of this led to her death. That same evening two other ladies fell which was dealt with by the nurse patronizing one and saying of the other, “She always does that.” It is a horrific place. Stay away from there unless you want your loved one neglected and abused.

If I could give no stars I would. This place is a DUMP! Smells of urine and decay. “Secured” units aren’t secure. They can walk anywhere! They used a chair to keep a door closed to their secure unit. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My father was admitted to this facility a little over a month ago and within a week contracted Hepatitis A from contaminated food or water (if you've seen the food, you know where it came from). While he was experiencing symptoms of the communicable disease he contracted, he waited 40 minutes to an hour to get a bed pan and another extended time frame to get off the bed pan. It took them 28 days to finally make the effort to give him blood tests to determine what was going on. They are frequently out of basic food necessities (juices, eggs, bread, ginger ale, coffee) and this past weekend it was his medication that was never processed through the pharmacy. He also did not receive his wound care treatments that are to be done daily by doctor's orders.... the ONLY reason he is still in a nursing facility! The one nurse I have come in contact with that genuinely cares for her residents is Sophia, the day nurse on floor 2B. She is amazing and this place is beyond blessed to have her. She is likely the saving grace to her residents as she has been my father. I finally filed a complaint to the PA Department of Health after leaving messages to administration and the director of nursing with no calls back. Today, they returned a call but I chose not to answer as I am uninterested in the excuses they'll try to feed me. I would love to give benefit of the doubt, but given previous reviews, this is not a one-off issue.

Had to place my family member at this facility and they are absolutely the worst facility to place a loved one. Myself and family members make it a point to go every day and keep the communication open and clear with the medical staff. They do not have any policy or procedures in place, they bring my family member other patients medication several times and when it is brought to their attention they say it is because they are short staffed and have other nurses or aids from agencies that are not familiar. Do they not know how to read which medication a patient is supposed to have? They left my family member when assisted to the bathroom and claimed they forgot and the list is endless of the issues addressed and not being resolved. We pray we can find a facility that has professional, consistent care to move our loved one out of here as soon as possible. Please beware of this facility.
