I recently toured Avamere Rehabilitation in Oregon City with their Administrator Allen James. The building was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. What stood out most was the staff — everyone I met was kind, professional, and clearly dedicated to providing excellent care. It is obvious they prioritize the health, dignity, and happiness of their residents. If you’re looking for a skilled nursing facility that treats people like family, I would absolutely recommend giving them a visit.

If you’re looking for a skilled facility with strong leadership at the heart of it, look no further. Allen, the Executive Director, is a true example of what compassionate, committed leadership should look like. He leads with integrity, heart, and a genuine dedication to both the residents and the staff. You can see the impact he’s made in the improved quality of care, the positive energy among the team, and the overall sense of community within the building. It’s rare to find someone in his role who balances professionalism with such empathy. Allen doesn’t just manage—he inspires. He’s deeply involved, approachable, and it’s clear that every decision he makes is guided by what’s best for the residents and those who care for them. The facility has truly transformed under his leadership, and our community is better because of him. Thank you, Allen, for the difference you make every day.

My son has been being cared for at Avamere at Oregon City, Oregon for about one year and three months. He needs help with wound management and upper body strength. I was able to visit him over this Easter Weekend. The staff was very polite and welcoming. We were escorted to my sons room and left to visit. If there was a procedure for medical or personal reasons, we left the room and were told we could return. We felt the staff liked my son and he liked them as well. He told us he was happy there and felt he was getting the proper care he needs.

Bad service takes hours to get a nurse. Things get lost, hearing aids, dentures, clothes in laundry and any other personal items.

Had great care, meals were excellent, meds given at appropriate time/schedule. Private room, staff very kind, would request to return to this facility if needed.
