I have been a patient in four rehab facilities for various reasons since June 2024. Rehabs by the nature of their business is not a happy place to be. But I must say that Grand Oaks was the best of the four. I was admitted in June and discharged October 8. Any complaints I would have would be trivial in nature. Therefore, I would like to commend the Admin staff, nurses, CNAs, and Aides. When I was admitted I had virtually no use of my legs due to an autoimmune disease. With four months of outpatient therapy and four months of daily physical and occupational therapy from the Grand Oaks therapy team I was able to walk with a walker to the car for my ride home. And finally I would like to offer kudos to Lazslo the Grand Oaks chef for providing nutritious satisfying meals.

Moved my 89 yr old mom to Aspire @ Grand Oaks in Palm Coast at the end of March for rehab purposes. She was recovering from a fall at home, along with a 2nd fall during her stay at a different rehab. Leaving her to recuperate from 2 hip replacements. During her stay at Aspire my husband & I have been visiting with her 5-7 days a week. We have been closely involved in her healthcare & the individual professionals assigned to meet her needs. I am truly grateful for the outstanding staff @Aspire. I have experienced them to be incredibly caring, compassionate & competent individuals. I truly appreciate their genuine devotion to their job & their patients. We met at first with Don, Admissions who was welcoming & accomodating. In our time visiting, we have come to interact with CNA's who have been absolutely amazing as caregivers. Many regularly go above & beyond to meet her needs with exceptional patience, grace & compassion. I am impressed with their ability to genuinely take an interest in her care especially Merlin, Victoria & Lydia to name a few. The Nursing staff, particularly Greta, Sherry, Petal, Beverly, Kaitland, Yulia & the supervising nurses have been exceptional. Each professional regularly following up on her induividual emotional & physical needs. All have done their best to accomodate her needs & ours to the best of their ability & beyond. Special mention to the PT & OT staff, Kim, Stacy, Shirley, Rachel & David are absoulutely incredible with working with her; constantly adjusting their schedules, motivating her & pushing her past her sometimes extremely challenging attitude. Also the patient care director, Anita who is always ready to assist with any area of concern. The activities staff Kim & Magdelena are always positive & uplifting interacting with each patient. The social worker, Sandie has also been extremely helpful with support. The cleaning crew is always on hand & working hard to maintain the building. The dietician Jill has also been an amazing asset on this journey monitoring her nutrition & weight. Lazlo the food manager & his staff have been extremely helpful in creating meals to meet her needs.
Ofcourse, there are a few that do not fit this description & probably need a career change, but thankfully only a handful. My experience has shown 95% of the staff members to take a genuine interest in their patients & families. While the building is older & could use some renovating. Particularly, the cafeteria can use a makeover. Having a larger flat screen TV for all the patients to view movies & activities, along with an updated stereo system would be helpful. I know this is lengthy feedback but important. As most of us would rather not have to be in this position to care for our aging parent & are many times unprepared for it, so when or if it does, it is a great blessing & comfort to know they can be in attentive & skilled hands. The staff at Aspire have helped tremendously in this somewhat stretching time, to maintain a positive & uplifting attitude. Thank you to all the staff who are sincere & have been gifted to care for others.
You are greatly appreciated. May you be blessed abundantly.
