If you love your family member DO NOT send them here. Nurses have quit after working a few weeks out of fear of the place being a liability and them loosing their license (it’s that bad). Don’t fall for the 4 star ratings on anything genesis owned in Parkersburg. It is inhumane the way these poor residents are living. We had our grandmother here for 5 days who is a diabetic, high fall risk, and experiencing confusion. She fell twice in 2 days. There’s no alarm on the beds even for high fall risk patients. She also was NEVER given her insulin since being admitted. Her blood sugar got to 411 and they STILL wouldn’t give her insulin shot immediately.I’ve seen residents who should not be walking trying to make it down the hall by grabbing anything they can to hold them up with each step and there being not one nurse to help. My grandma asked to use the bathroom (mind you she’s here for rehabilitation) and the nurse didn’t want to take the time to move her so they said to just make her go in her diaper. The place is deplorable with zero compassion for humanity. We had to make sure her food was received when it came time to eat. They never did bring her tray to her table until over an hour later when a family member demanded it. Many of the workers here I question their credentials. The list goes on. Imagine the poor residents who don’t have someone to advocate for them.
Wish I could give zero stars! Only redeeming quality was 1 friendly staff member. The place is so nasty, my DIABETIC grandmother was there for about 5 days and nobody was checking her sugar, and then when they realized they hadn’t been doing so, they STILL never gave her the insulin she needed. She also had 2 falls there and had never fallen before and wasn’t even given an x-ray and was on found laying on her back for who knows how long?!. She DRASTICALLY declined while there in a matter of only a few days. They kept telling her to pee in her diaper when she would beg to use a toilet. The place stunk so bad and the entire facility was filthy. I wouldn’t even send a rat to live there.
The staff is the best i have ever seen they are so caring and always willing to help they treated my wife with so much love and for this is love them all Gary Snyder I don't see how they could get much better
I don't know what has changed but myvisit today was great. The staff knew who my brother was right away when I asked and super kind and friendly. My brother has made so much progress and it was clean.
My mother has just been admitted and the staff has been very attentive to her needs. They got her started on rehab by the second day there, after hip surgery and she was able to walk 6 steps. So far so good.
