My family recently had a family member stay there about three weeks. Things seemed to be okay at first. Most of the staff were friendly to many of the family members. They stayed informing the family members' children about how they were doing in the room. The therapists (occupational, physical, and speech) were great with our family member, and was able to tell us what they were doing good and not so good in. On the family member's third week there, they got sent out to a hospital in the area due to them going into respiratory distress. However, the children of the family member found out from the ER doctor and nurses some information from the EMT's that contradicts some of the what the staff at the facility said. You can image how the children and family members are feeling about it. Afterwards, one family member went to the facility to pick up the belongings, and once one of the children got their parent's belongings and went through it, that child realized that are items that are missing and shouldn't been used up in a three week stay. We are disappointed at the facility, but we do pray and wish them well. We hope the staff will step up and do better across the board. If you work there and take care of the patients, you should take care of them like your closest family and friends. Love of them, take care of them If you can find a place that will love and take care of your family member as they are your family, please that them there.

I had a very good expperance with my stay at Legacy Rehab and Health. The nursing staff seen to my every need. The lady’s that cleaned my room kept it clean and were very courteous. My occupational therapist ladies and the men of my Physical therapist were great. Thank you all very very much for all that you have done to help me. Robert Rodgers

Never get meds on time; meds are not logged at the time I receive them, the nurses seem to log times at the end of their shifts. I’m passed over again and again on my shower days leaving me getting a shower (if I’m lucky) once every 2-3 weeks. What really makes me angry is when CNA’s lie saying I refused my shower which is ridiculous. Who on earth only wants to get clean once every 2 to 3 weeks?? I have a Rx for psoriasis to use on my shower days which is available during the days time when I ask, but since my shower times are evenings the night nurse “can’t find my Rx anywhere and is not on her cart”. ???-eerrr okay then >:((. On my days I have appts at UAB Hospital my transport always gets messed up and I miss my appts. This has happened to ALL but 3 of the many many appts scheduled and rescheduled. My appts with my specialists, doctors and surgeons are crucial to my recovery and in the 6-7 months I’ve been here nothing has moved forward in my recovery because of inability to get to my scheduled appts. There are several more issues but one I need to point out is my roommate has an intellectual disability a well as diabetes, I’ve witnessed on several occasions the night nurse cursing at her about her eating garbage because her sugar level is high, but using foul language & yelling at her is no way to communicate with a patient. This nurse shouldn’t even be doing this job as she doesn’t seem to be competent or is too old and losing her marbles.

I cannot say enough about how thrilled I was with the love and care that my brother, Frank, received from Legacy Health and Rehab – Pleasant Grove. I moved Frank to Birmingham after his dementia diagnosis just about the time the world shut down with COVID. As his health declined he was moved once before landing at Legacy. I was impressed by the low staff turnover; I saw the same faces month after month. I was equally happy that he was always clean and well cared for. But more than that, I was thrilled by the way he responded to the staff of Pleasantville when I was there visiting. It was obvious to me that the care and attention he received while I was present was matched by the love and care he received while I was not there. His reaction to the staff could not be faked or put on for my benefit. They cared about and loved him, and that meant so much to me. If I had to do it all over again, I would have moved him to Legacy earlier. He obviously got better care there than either of the two other facilities he stayed at in Birmingham. Thank you, Legacy, you are the best!!!

My mom was there and we lost her Wednesday. My grandfather went to get her stuff. But just so happen her brand new phone was missing. As a nurse walks buy and here's him say he's filing a police report she says hold on and come back with it. My grandfather tore that room apart looking for it. so if u want your loved ones stuff stolen and have people lie to your face about it when you been through enough. There's no way in hell I would send someone there if they are going to do that there is no telling what they do. That nurse should have lost her job and should not be there anymore and the manager should be investigated.and don't try to call because they won't answer. They should be closed down. And by all the reviews already I don't know how they are still open. But I do know it will come back to them what goes around comes around.
