Medicare Quality Ratings: According to CMS, Sierra View Homes has an overall quality rating of 5 out of 5 stars, which is much above average compared to other nursing homes nationwide. Individual category ratings are: health inspection: 4 stars, staffing: 5 stars, quality measures: 2 stars.

Medicare Coverage: Medicare covers skilled nursing facility care for up to 100 days following a qualifying hospital stay of at least 3 days. Days 1-20 are fully covered by Medicare, days 21-100 require a daily coinsurance payment. Many residents also use Medicaid, private insurance, or pay privately for long-term stays.

Questions to Ask: When visiting a nursing home, ask about: staff-to-resident ratios and RN coverage around the clock, how they handle medical emergencies, activities and therapy programs, how they communicate with families, their approach to falls prevention, and policies for managing resident complaints.

I started here at Sierra View Homes in 2017. I was in the Terraces apartments for 6 months, then moved to the independent Garden Apartments for 4 years. After awhile my balance got off and you don't want to fall and be laying there for days, so I decided to move here to the Assisted Living where I'm checked on more often. I've been here for 2 years. I like it! I'm comfortable, I've saved money. They check in on me multiple times a day. It's quiet, and I sleep well. They have a great wellness center with the exercise machines where you can be seated and go as fast as you want. Exercising is so important! Today I did 3300 steps in 30 minutes. We have Sittercise every day. They even hosted a competition where we were competing for steps! Every day I do Sittercise, go out to the Wellness Center, then go to lunch. I visit with friends at lunch - you have a table so you get to know people. There are 2 tables of puzzles - I work with another friend (I do the edges, she fills it in). We usually meet there and do the puzzle together before dinner. They have movies that where you see your friends, and you can go visit other people on campus that you know. It's nice staying here on campus as you need more help because you keep in touch with your friends. The nurses and staff are great. They jump right in to help. Everyone is friendly here. They also drive me to my appointments. I know the drivers here - I'm a bit of a nervous passenger, so even though I could call other transportation, I prefer the Sierra View drivers. I would definitely recommend that people come to the assisted living. I'm very happy here!

We have had a very good experience with my mother-in-law being at Sierra View Homes in skilled nursing. We feel that she is well taken care of. There are a lot of activities for her to participate in and a lot of people to talk to and to assist her. We are grateful for the care that she is getting! Thank you to all at Sierra View Homes!

Sierra View has carefully and conscientiously cared for my grandmother, mother and mother-in-law. The staff is caring and the facilities comfortable, attractive and well-maintained, plus the food is good and there are many activities for residents. Their rates are very reasonable whether for independent apartments, assisted living or skilled nursing care.

1/11/2025 since all these "good" 5 star reviews seem to be outdated! 1) BAD COMMUNICATION- Staff is terrible at communicating with family about their loves ones. One several occasions have we asked to know something and they never give callbacks for updates to the matter. 2)TERRIBLE CARE- My grandmother has fallen 2x under the staffs lack of care or supervision. BOTH TIMES she was on the floor helplessly, no nurse or aide in sight. They DO NOT care about residents only to take their social security checks every month! She has been here roughly 3 years and she is basically surviving on her own will she has to do everything herself with the little bit of mobility she has nobody to assist her in changing clothes/transferring to her bed from wheelchair, nobody to help her if she needs restroom, no assistance with hygiene besides showers. 3) OLD AND OUTDATED! Don't let the pretty outside of the building fool you this place is run down and outdated on the inside and dirty/smelly. UNLESS YOUR FAMILY IS FORKING OVER A GOOD DIME $$$$$ EVERY MONTH EXPECT MEDIOCRE CARE AT THIS FACILITY! Definitely looking into a better and actually skilled nursing home to better fit our loved ones needs!
