Riverdale Center for Nursing and Healing has such a warm and welcoming environment. Every time I visited, the staff greeted me with kindness and made me feel right at home. The facility is always clean which really stood out compared to other places I’ve seen. It’s clear that they truly care about the well-being of their residents. I would highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a safe and supportive place for their loved ones.

At first it had a bad smell to it but they must have hired new cleaning people because it actually smell better. The nurses are really nice to my grandma and she’s happy there so that’s how you know they treat them good. Short term stay for my grandma but I loved it. Just get a better door system we be waiting and waiting for them to open the door 😩

Where do I begin……… first of all my dad came here from Emory for physical therapy to gain his strength back. When he arrived by ambulance my mother and I came as well. We didn’t have a clue where he was when we came in the building no one was in the front to greet us and then when we finally found someone they took us to him we were trying to tell the cna and the nurse what was going on he had been diagnosed with dementia and we explained our concern of him getting out the bed and falling at night and it was very rushed and blown off response. Moving forward now mind you he had only been there for about 3 to I believe this week 9/14/25 may have been the 4th week it’s been such a bad experience everyday. He has fallen multiple times and they never informed us, it took the gentleman on the other side of the curtain to tell us we were furious. We then expressed concern again and they put a mat on the floor for him and then he slid out the recliner as well. There were some good techs and there were some very rude techs. It’s a specific one that needs to be fired because you can tell from the bottom of her heart that she hates her job she’s kind of heavy set with braids I’m unsure of her name because none of them ever address their name when they come in which is something that is REQUIRED! I’ve taken plenty of classes and am in the healthcare field so I know, she doesn’t speak, smile, just not friendly. They keep claiming my dad was violent and agitated a lot and of course agitation comes with dementia and of course they kept saying oh it’s documented that he’s violent but when you just walk in a room and take someone’s pants down and don’t say anything anyone would be violent towards that right? Even when he was in Emory they came in introduced themselves, told him what they were going to do and it was a very smooth outcome. He was the nicest person when he’s treated nicely. My mom came to sat with him on a daily basis most of the day and she stated they would come in half do a job and leave not say anything the same lady I mentioned earlier came in to change him one time and didn’t even use wipes to clean him and my mom mentioned it to her and the lady stated I don’t think there are any wipes in here and my mom stated to her yes it is and went and got some she proceeded to clean him and my mom asked to help her get him back in the recliner she sat him half way in the chair and left out the room. It seemed like every time I visited he was soiled. They also never came to change every 2 hours as he is incontinent. I let the nurse manager SUN know that with a lot of other concerns especially about the lady I spoke about previously and it’s funny because I told her I didn’t know the lady’s name but she described her to the max so she knew and she stated she would mention all my concerns in the next staff meeting. Oh and also the call light! I visited my dad very often there and there was plenty of times the call light was on and guess what no one came each time except once and that took 30 min. Earlier in the week my mom asked the nurse or cna for a chest xray to be done she had been asking for it for a couple days due to secretion, And then when the dr comes in my moms asks her about it and she stated that nothing had been ordered after she was told it was ordered already. They wouldn’t t even suction him they all act like they have no clue of what to do. I call to check on him at night I was on hold for 30 min I have proof on my phone. Fast forward to today my dad had been coughing all night, gentlemen around the curtain told my mom that’s how we know and according to him a nurse or a tech walked in saw him coughing and walked out. Prior to my mom leaving the night before she told the nurse that he needed a breathing treatment when she returned the next morning she found out it wasn’t given. Later in the afternoon he had become unresponsive and oxygen was very low numbers all out of whack my mom calling out to bring him oxygen no urgency no one wants to work now he’s in the hospital and we have a much better care.
