My cousin was here for a short stay. The staff seemed compassionate and attentive. Seemed like they had fun activities for the residents, however she was most impressed with the rehab team.
We were shocked by the lack of care. The doctor listened to my friend’s lungs every day but never looked at her wounds. The nurses didn’t know what to do with the drains. The food was horrible and there was not enough staff on duty. The rooms are horrendous and it smells badly in the hallway.
When we had a little tour some days before our friend was admitted, they told us total lies and made sure we didn’t get to the smelly part.
I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here.
I was lucky to have chosen Avamere Park West to complete my rehab. I spent 4 weeks at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada recovering after an accident and surgery on both knees. I transferred to Park West to continue my recovery and relearn how to walk. The staff was wonderful and I felt safe from day one. Thanks to the wonderful physical and occupational therapists that worked with me, I improved quickly such that I could go home after a month. It was very clear that the CNAs and nurses caring for me on a daily basis really take their work seriously and care about the patients. Overall the staff is top notch.
The rehab folks and all the staff were wonderful. I got from barely able to stanf to walking a half mile in three weeks!
The phone system in this facility does not work no matter when I try calling. I can not get back to my brother who has called 4 times while I was away from my phone. Since you cant be bothered to answer the phone, go up to the 3rd floor and tell my brother Merlin I have been trying to return his calls but unfortunately your phone system has broken your hands and your fingers.
