Negative stars is what this place deserves. My dad was here from Aug 22-Sept 26 and I transferred him to another facility. He was so much weaker after staying here and this place doesn’t take good care of your family. He was treated poorly. Depended on the day of what I would find in the room but the room was never clean, never mopped but once during the entire stay because a visitor of ours requested it to be mopped on the 20th of Sept due to the toilet overflowing and the state of his room. She used to clean hospital rooms. I would visit daily and walk in to urine stained sheets, and have to request for him to be changed. Scheduled medications are not scheduled, since he is bedridden he should have been repositioned but they left him on his back only when hospice came in M, W, F was he moved for a bath. He developed bed sores on his feet that weren’t taken good care of here. He was in a really fragile condition, and needs help to press the button on the bed to sit up and repositioned. These aids would come in the room put the food on the tray and not even care if they can get to it. The quality of food is another story, they messed his food up had him on a minced moist diet it took until 8 Sept to fix it, finally getting him on regular food. However the regular food is horrible even being told by multiple employees and hearing the employees talk about the food in front of my dad and his roommate, things like ewww not sure what it is I would not eat it either, why don’t you take a bite. If you are thinking, well, they just treated my dad who is a Vietnam Era Vet like this and it’s just my problem that’s what’s wrong with this world. One more thing the administrator and director of nursing called me the day before asking the reasons which I told them above. I have spoken to the director of nursing before about an incident on Sept 11 that happened in my dad’s room. They said they understood but how can they help make the transfer smooth, I said please take care of my dad, keep him clean, ensure a smooth transfer. Guess what? I saw my dad when he was received at the new center, the sheets were the same sheets I saw on him the night before I could tell I saw him around 8:40PM last at the heights on the 25th of Sept the sheets were urine stained and when I saw him in the afternoon on the 26th of Sept when he was transferred it’s like they transferred him in with the same dirty diaper and urine stained sheets. The nurse at the new facility told me to turn away so she could hurry and get him to the shower for me. They didn’t even have the decency to transfer him clean.

I had my dad at a few centers over the past year. We went from Independent living at Independence Hill in Stone Oak, moved to Coronado for rehab. Over the course of getting all the Medicaid worked out, we ended up at a few places. Some really smelled bad, others you could see the staff tried but just were overwhelmed. I’ve seen a few… and I really really appreciate The Heights. Mostly the staff and administration are on top of what really matters. You can tell they care. When my dad had to go to the hospital for a week, Sylvia the Care Coordinator was in constant contact with us and came to visit him. Honestly this place has been a blessing in our lives. I can leave my dad and run my own life with the security that he will be cared for.

I just visited a very good friend of mine who has cancer. She was well taken care of and seemed to be content. The facility was clean and organized with very friendly staff. I would recommend this facility for my loved one.

Staff were always short, my mom's clothing were always missing. The tv never worked after me telling them many times about it. It's so very unorganized place. I am thankful that my sister found silvertree, now this place has been very good, in all ways. They are good at first but after that, it's down hill.

I volunteer here with a therapy dog. I am so impressed with the positive energy everyone has. Every person who works here is kind and caring and the patients are genuinely happy. It is very clean as well. I am again very impressed with the positivity and kindness everyone has who works and who is staying here. I love volunteering here because of this. I feel joy every time I visit.
