about 2 1/2 weeks ago, my brother-in-law was admitted to Medilodge Of Sterling Heights. On the time of his admission, he was very weak disoriented and basically just a very sad mess. Over his stay at Medilodge He has become more stronger more sociable and working on his way to return to better health to return to his home. During his stay there I was able to speak with the social worker Deidra and I believe that I’met an angel. This person went completely out of her way to help my brother-in-law with a much needed agenda that we were thinking that there was no way this is going to be Accomplish . Miss Deidra Took it upon herself to make things happen for him he was able to get what he needed and it was a relief to him and the family members that this was able to be done . Every time that I asked to speak to Miss Deidra, it was not a problem. She happily met me and we were able to Discuss my brother-in-law situation with him present. Upon speaking about Medilodge of Sterling Heights I find that the staff is friendly and helpful with the way HIPAA and the policies of the nursing home. They do their very best to help answer any questions and try to assist as many issues. Nursing facilities can be a very sad place for one of our loved ones to be in. It’s very hard to go there day by day and visit and see the sadness but I am grateful and thankful for Medilodge of Sterling Heights for the care that they have given my family member. I give a great big shout out and thank you To miss Deidra for her kindness her motivation and Work ethics she is amazing and she is greatly appreciated by this family. Many people that you meet in life you never forget even the littlest thing that they do but she went way beyond and her kindness will not be Forgotten. Sincerely, Debra Giordano 12!3/25

This is a review of Deidra Marshall, social worker; she is most helpful and appreciated! She assisted my family with paperwork and counsel for a resident family member. She went over and above the standard level of care by making herself available to a family new to navigating nursing home care, responding promptly and empathetically to phone calls and emails, and being present and supportive on site.

If I could give a negative score I would. Anyone who says this place is clean or acceptable for their loved one has set a very low bar. My loved one almost died due to lack of care. He was literally not checked on from the time my mother left until she returned the next day. This ended in an ICU stay of 2 weeks. We happily did not return to this facility. Do yourself a favor and run!

The facility is absolutely horrible. Dirty linen in the hallway. Bloody bandages on carts and on the floor! The facility smells highly of urine. Employees not responding to patients. Patients screaming not a single employee helping. Employee laughing at screaming patients. Worst place to take a loved one !

I don't even know where to begin. This place is a JOKE. Since having my relative in this place there has been nothing but chaos. Let's start with the leaks and flooding with raw sewage coming up from the floor in this place, or the lack of AC in the patients rooms when the outside temp is over 100* making the rooms so hot you can't breathe. The maintenance department is less than competent to address these matters. Maybe if they would leave recreational activities for after business hours instead of while at work, things would be taken care of in a timely manner. I have addressed my concerns to one of the maintenance directors ( per his name and title on his shirt) and I could barely hold a conversation with him because of smell of alcohol and marijuana that was seeping from his body. Yesterday when I was leaving, I witnessed two of the employees at their cars pouring liquor into a cup, take a drink and proceed to walk back into the building. The care that goes on in this place is subpar. My relative is always telling me and my family that their call light is ALWAYS on if it even works when the press it. The CNAs are rude and disrespectful to residents and amongst themselves. The things you hear in the hall or in other rooms as you pass them are not suitable for the workplace. They are extremely rough with some of these residents as well. It breaks my heart. The food that is served there to these residents should not be fed to animals alone to humans. On several occasions while visiting, the staff was outside bbqing. ( you can smell it from 15 mile and see the staff walk around with their plates) while the residents get served something similar to slop. I wish that I had the resources to care for my family member in my home. If I did, they would be out of this dump last week. For the amount of money that the residents pay, the entire staff at Medilodge definitely needs to do a lot better.
