I recently admitted my mom here, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. Let’s start with the food. honestly, it didn’t look very appetizing, and the smell was off-putting. The aides and nurses who came into my mom's room didn’t introduce themselves, which felt a little weird. The one person who really stood out was Natalie—she’s a total gem! She actually introduced herself and made sure to check in, offering help whenever needed. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond, ask for Natalie! The rehab staff was fantastic, though! They made sure my mom got her physical and occupational therapy, and it definitely helped her get back on her feet. That said, the aides and nurses could be hit or miss. Call lights often went unanswered for too long, and when I tried to find someone, they either ignored me or told me they weren’t assigned to my mom that day. One thing I really appreciated was seeing the administrator walking around and checking in on the unit. It’s rare to see that level of involvement, and it made a difference in terms of feeling like someone actually cared. Overall, the facility is beautiful, and there are some great staff members, but the care could definitely use some improvement. That said, I’m glad to see my mom up and walking, so I’m thankful for that!

My family member recently stayed at Bear Mountain for rehab after a fall, and I just wanted to say how much we appreciated the care they received. The staff were kind, patient, and always willing to answer our questions. It made a tough situation feel a lot less stressful. Thank you to everyone who helped make the stay as comfortable as possible.

This place is absolutely awful. Despite some of the staff truly caring about the residents, it’s not enough. My grandfather is both a fall and aspiration risk and is routinely ignored, laid down too low, and has had serious health issues because of the way he is mistreated. He has a horrific infection in his foot and has for months. We have never seen or spoken to a doctor. He is getting increasingly worse and has been since he got here. Currently as I write this I am with him as he is sitting in his own filth, waiting for a nurse to come while his call light is broken. I have spoken to the nurse and she said we have to wait. He is in pain. And it frightens me that his call light is broken and the nurse said it has been for days and nobody seems to care or be trying to fix it. He is an aspiration risk and could choke or stop breathing and the light is the only thing that can get the attention of the staff. And despite that even when the light works the staff often take 30 minutes to multiple hours to respond to his light being on. I cannot express how awful this place is in every way possible. There is no communication, they are understaffed, most staff don’t care about the residents, everyone I’ve met here has only been getting increasingly worse during their stay, and the staff often neglect the patients to the point of them being ill and often hospitalized. The rooms are also routinely left filthy, and not being clean can be a health risk. Please please please do not let your family members come here. Edit! Please read! The staff at this place have read my review! Instead of doing anything to better our experience here and treat my grandfather better, they have simply harassed my grandmother to get me to take my review down, along with reprimanding my grandfather for my actions. First of all, neither of my grandparents have any say in what I post or say whatsoever, second of all, if you dont want this review up then change things. I will gladly take this post down when things get better. Until then this post will remain up. Thank you.

My father was a a patient at Bear Mountain in Sudbury following surgery. Im writing on behalf of my father. I’m sharing our experience to help other families make informed decisions. On the night of July 10, 2025, my father who is alert and oriented x4 reported to the nurse on duty that he had fallen. According to him, the nurse, Felicia Ebika on the first floor, told him “You did not fall” and no vitals or neurological checks were done afterward per my father. My father confirmed this to me the next morning. (My dad has been in the medical field for over 40 years and knows what vitals signs and neurological checks are). On top of all of this my dad just had major abdominal surgery less than a week ago. We only found out he had fallen because my father called us that night. We tried to reach the facility multiple times that night and were unable to speak to anyone. The lack of response during a potentially serious medical situation was very distressing. When I visited the next morning, I asked about assessments ( vitals signs and neurological checks) from the overnight shift and was told by staff that they would not share it with me. Even though I am the health care proxy. I spoke with the Assistant Director of Nursing Katia and later the administrator Zach. I was told follow-up would occur, but I received no confirmation that standard post-fall procedures were followed. That same morning, my father’s blood pressure was found to be dangerously low by the day nurse. He was eventually transferred to the Hospital for further care. I am very concerned about the standard of care provided. I encourage the facility to review its policies around post-fall assessments and communication with families. No one has reached out to our family, especially my father to apologize and to go over the situation after addressing it with the nurse. Which Zach the administrator promised he was going to do. There has been no follow up or resolution. The state and board of nursing has been notified.

If you care about your loved ones at all, do not allow them to go here. They negelct their patients and never answer the phone, we tried calling for a week straight and got through once. Doctors "assessments" are walking in the room, asking 2 questions, and never being seen again. If you're reading reviews I assume you give a shit about whoever you're sending here. Listen to me and AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
