My wife was recently a patient at this facility. The staff were great to work with and very caring. The therapy team was really patient and willing to go at her pace. She was able to get stronger and it was faster than we expected. The food was better than the last nursing home we stayed in. This is definitely a facility that is worth considering for your loved one.

The staff here nurses, aids and doctors are awesome. The food service department is TERRIBLE. From day 1 my meals would be missing items, yet Medicare would still be charged. Today 7/25 my dinner was suppose to have a bowl of cooked vegetables but what came was a bowl of hopped lettuce without any dressing just plain. I have had numerous conversations about my meals but nothing is done. After reading the other reviews, I want to say that the nurses and aids that took care of me were AWESOME. The PT'S did a great job. I would recommend this place if it wasn't for the food service. If any of the administrators reads this my advice is find a new food service

Kitchen staff is amazing, my father has been here for a month and he has had 10/10 experience with all the staff here, and especially the kitchen staff, they are amazing. The kitchen staff is amazing to my father especially. They're really nice and by far the best staff there.

I am currently a patient at this facility, Orchard Park. I have been here for over 2 months. Any good reviews you read about this facility are untrue. Physical therapy is very poor. Therapists have actually hurt me and others due to rough handling. There is NO collaboration on treatment. It seems to be one size fits all even if you tell them they are hurting you! After one session I was in bed for a week. OT is nonexistent. The food is ATROCIOUS! VERY POORLY prepared and repugnant. I have mostly had milk and crackers for weeks. They give the excuse that a pipe broke in the kitchen which it did over a month ago. There has been no change in the swill they serve since the pipe was supposedly fixed. AND the swill is always served COLD. They are opening a new unit in a week or so. It will be quite exclusive and expensive. I doubt those folks will get poor care. But if you're ordinary folks be forewarned. All is NOT what they may tell you. If you are in the hospital and needing rehab have someone check out this facility with a very critical eye. If you are coming to the new unit just be aware that ward is atypical to say the least. Be wary. And good luck in getting well. Signed by a weary patient. 2/19/25--Just a follow up. Today administration spoke with me about the post above. They were not well pleased but were willing to listen and discuss the important issues regarding my care here. Yes I am still here but approaching discharge. I very much appreciated being heard. I hope they will work towards improving conditions so patients can heal and return to their lives and families. I have much hope. Regarding the therapies, I am now working with what is called restoration. This includes exercises to keep me as fit as possible as I prepare to go home. The therapy is going well so far and I have found the therapist to be very competent and professional and a joy to work with. If you or a loved one are needing or considering rehab at least talk with these folks. Tell them your needs and, if possible visit and get a sense of the facility for yourself. I want to say a bit about the staff who have cared for me. The unit staff have all been wonderful. After the holidays, I developed pneumonia and covid! The staff doctor took excellent care of me. It was not an easy time but I believe he did a great job. Unit staff were again supportive and caring and on top of the situation. They were also great to talk with during a very difficult time and I'm very grateful. I am hoping positive changes will continue. Regarding the food, they are trying and there have been improvements. But in truth, would you want to cook for a lot of people with different needs, tastes, likes and dislikes? Again, they are trying very hard. Again, I always have hope.0 6/17/25--God help me I am still here and getting NO help to leave. The system has decided I must go another care facility for a long time. Again no one has talked to me! I can only say DO NOT COME HERE. This is a warehouse. As long as you have benefits you get PTOT. They won't tell you everything just stop treating you. I am making my own plans to go home. It's telling that NO One has ever talked to ME about what I have at home to take care of myself. I'm all set at home as I have had problems walking for several years. They have NEVER asked me. Enough. 7/20/25 DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE. It was really THAT BAD. I had to be rushed to Allenmore to save my life. The food was so putrid I developed Potassium deficiency and an intestinal blockage. I will never be the same. I am scared all the time. Can't sleep or eat. Their gift was physical and emotional breakdown. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Make no doubt this place, it needs to be shut down by the state. My wife recently spent 21 days at this location. EVERYDAY she was served cold food. When addressed with dietary manager we were told it was a plumbing problem.( further investigation indicated that they have dealing with this issue for over 2 years) .My wife dealt with quality care issues. ( ex. She was there for leg wound therapy. It requires a pump on the wound 24/7. Without it a mass infection could set in. The pump apparently broke. We were told one had to be ordered and we would have the next day. It took them 4 days to get a new pump. We were lied to several times. It took going to the director of nursing, who admitted that they dropped the ball) Other issue included a plugged toilet that took days to unplug. Lack of nursing care to assist getting the patient off the commode. So they were left to sit there waiting for help. Many residents were left to dress themselves even though they struggled in doing so. The smell of urine was evident in many of the hallways. Complaints were filed with Washington state dept of health, DSHS and the pierce county ombudsman who had received other complaints. We strongly recommend not to place your friend or family members at this location .
