I have been at Avamere for a long time. Thank you for all the help, love and attention I received here. I know that there were some ups and downs but overall the majority of my time was great. I want to say to anyone considering staying here or sending your family memeber here you will find the kind help that I did. Staff treated me like family and made it feel like a home versus just a place I was staying. I will always remember the games and good times we had together. I hope that god blesses all who work here and that you recieve the same love and kindness you gave to me. I will truly miss all of you. In friendship Earl Espinoza

CNA Darius/ Kathleen, Nurse Sarah Bowen, and other nurses did an amazing job taking care of my husband in room 312-2. I would hire them to care for my husband if I have a chance…👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 thank you and keep it up giving cares to others that need help. Bless you all!!! But other then what been said this rehab, Case manager and social worker need to step up to pay more attention who they hire to come work in this facility. They are paying to give care for the patients that are there. Which I did made a complaint on Whoever the nurse that draws my husband blood last week on the second or third day he got admitted, you really hurt him and use fishing techniques which it’s not okay. That’s how can cause hematoma and bruise damages to the veins. After you been told by my husband please don’t do that and you still hurt him but you kind a mad and continuing drawing his blood after you got the veins for good amount of blood you drawn from his hand, you held his arm and pressed really hard on his hand. My husband was saying to you it hurt and all you said oh sorry. She knew what she was doing and walk away, that is not appropriate and not professional. That was not okay and hopefully she doesn’t do the same on all the patients. FYI my husband doesn’t speak English and understands enough on some English words but he understands everything

Compared to other facilities of this type both my parents have been in, it rates the lowest. IT IS OLD ,OUTDATED,NOT VERY CLEAN, AND NOT MUCH THERAPY AT ALL. on an up note the staff is friendly and caring. HUGE MISTAKE! MY FATHER WAS ADMITTED TO A SECTION OF THE FACILITY WHEEE THERE WAS AN ACTIVE CASE OF COVID. WITH HIS SEVERE COPD, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY FOR MY FATHER.AND THE STAFF MEMBER WHOTOLD ME ABOUT THE COVID PATIENT WAS REPREMANDED. WOW, THAT IS WRONG ON ALL LEVELS. ALL IN ALL IM LARGELY DISAPPOINTED IN TGE FACILITY AND CARE MY FATHER RECIEVED.

Reaching anyone to talk to while my loved one was at this facility was difficult. Chris, who answered the phone most frequently, did her best to page or find the person I was asking for, but after long waits on hold and her being unsuccessful in locating the person, she would put me through to vmail…I never received a call back from any message left. The worst of it has occurred since the “discharge meeting” that I had to coordinate, but was well attended by a nurse representative, a PT representative, a social services representative and the owner of the facility my loved on was expected to return to. While the meeting seemed to go well and we got all of our questions answered, the follow through on the items to be ordered and delivered to my loved one’s care facility the afternoon of discharge (walker and wheelchair) promised by the social services person, Ashley still (6 weeks later and 6 phone calls later) have not yet happened. I even left a message for the person I understood to be the Nurse Administrator to elevate my follow up request and have not heard crickets! This is completely unacceptable to me. That a doctor could supposedly order the necessary equipment and PT needed for the patient at discharge and no one to take responsibility for ensuring it all was delivered as ordered says to me that they are interested in getting their care dollars while the patient is in house and could care less what happens afterwards. Should my loved one require a rehab facility again (and the odds are that she will) I will not use Avamere!

It gets one star because the nurses that helped us were very kind and clearly care about their job . My mom who had open heart surgery 8days ago was told she needed to go to a rehab facility to get stronger . wasn’t even there for a total of 4 hours before self discharging against medical advice . Really seems like they are overly worked . The room /bathrooms / hallways are very dirty and smells soooo aweful ! Everything is extremely outdated and warn down . Online pictures don’t even do it justice . People in wheelchairs sitting in the hall way scooting themselves in slow motion . The “dinner” was so gross . Felt like a scary movie .
