I spent 16 days at Northcrest after spending 16 days at Allen hospital. I cannot say enough good things about the care I received while I was there. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The physical and occupational therapists were very knowledgeableand kind. My only complaint was the bed and chair in my room. 2 weeks home and my tailbone is still sore. The facility was clean and had no funky odors.
My mom went here after knee replacement surgery. We were not pleased with the lack of "care" she received. Communication between departments do not happen. No care team meeting until the day before she was discharged. Beware of having a loved one receive their care also know you will have to stay on top of all details to make sure things get taken care of. They also would shut off call light but not take care of her needs. I could go on and on about the issues we had in the almost week and half she was there.
The staff at Northcrest made a bad situation better. My father in law spent almost 6 months there after a series of illnesses. The staff got to know him and treated him like family. Jen even gave him her personal cell phone to call with anything he needed. The day he left for home was bittersweet with tears shed by him and the staff. Thanks so much for all you did for him!!! Alisha was amazing at helping us with the many stepping stones to get home! There is no place like home but everyone did what they could to make it the best it could be!
Well…..being a person who never thought I would be even close to a care facility, I was pleasantly surprised at the kindness shown to me and my family. From the nursing staff your aides and your other employees you are awesome! To the physical therapy people who painstakingly got me moving…you saved me..I love you all! If I were to have any complaint I gotta tell yah your food is not very pleasant, I do understand it can’t be an easy task but I never had hot food and I really would have liked ice in my ice tea! On that note one other thing…I would’ve liked my cup filled once in a while with ice water…but other than those things it wasn’t to bad of an experience but I do hope I don’t ever have to return! (lol). I left with a great respect for what your people do…God Bless You!
The only redeeming quality is that it is pretty clean and their PT was helpful. With that being said, I will never take anyone here again. The day he was FINALLY discharged, we walked in to his room to find him lying in bed with only a diaper on, not even a sheet! We dressed him, moved him to the car (the CNA’s were great), we never saw a nurse the entire time. Though the administration and Social worker walked by laughing and joking without offering to help. His health had declined significantly from the day before. We had him home for about 30 minutes when Northcrest called and said that he needed to go to the ER. At the ER we found out that he was extremely dehydrated and septic. Who knows how long they would have waited to have him seen. So glad we took him out of there so he could be taken care of!! If only zero stars were an option.
