PETERSON REHABILITATION AND HEALTHCARE

HORRIBLE PLACE. Was just there to visit a relative. Dirty nasty awful place. No clue if they had more than 2 people even working. Lunch trays still by the bed at 4 pm in the afternoon. Flies and other bugs everywhere. That is just what we could see in an hour visit. Never put any loved ones in this place. I don’t know how the state of WV lets them stay open.

I thought the staff was helpful, attentive, and eager to answer our questions. They were also very friendly and willing to go the extra mile

As a former CNA, I have noticed some issues that cause concerns. The staff is very kind and accommodating. However, I would like to see more attentive, personalized care. I realize the nursing staff are doing the best they can. I just feel that more resident personal care could be turned up a notch. With all that being said, overall, I have great experiences at Seneca Rehabilitation Hospital!

Today I brought my mother to Peterson rehabilitation. This is the third time she's been in rehabilitation in the last 2 years however the first time at Peterson. I must say the staff was very welcoming and warm. They had my mother and myself at ease in no time. I can't wait to see the progress in my mother in the next few weeks, so she can come back home and feel confident in her own abilities. I will leave another review when she is done with rehabilitation hopefully we can get her back to her self with in two weeks to a month. I know she can't wait to be back home with her dogs and I, but for Now we know she's in good care until then.

If possible I would give this facility a zero. The place is deplorable and don't know how it is still open. It is near impossible to get ahold of anyone at the facility. I had left several messages for the administrator, caseworker, and nurses and never received a call back. The only time the caseworker returned my call is when I requested a referral to Good Shepard. Then she was extremely helpful. I had to go over and physically hand my phone over to a nurse so that they would finally talk to my dad's doctors. My father was there for almost two months before he passed away and in those two months he got Covid and was severely dehydrated twice. Not once was I contacted which I requested so I could bring him things I knew he would drink and eat. The majority of the nurses there aren't helpful and mostly rude. The ones that are nice you can tell they are overworked and don't want to be there. The higher ups seem to only care about the money padding their pockets than the care of the patients. It's pretty pathetic when the doctor in charge of the facility won't even send his family there.
