I am beyond absolutely disgusted. My dad had to be placed in memory care in a very abrupt set of circumstances. He is blind in one eye. They have tiny televisions and I took him a larger one on a Sunday. I was told to call them the next day when maintenance would be there to hang it for him. I have been absolutely swamped in dealing with taking over everything in this situation. I had been told my dad is fixated on the couch in the main area. Well, since my mom passed, he only slept on his couch in the living room. His part in his room does not even have a TV on the wall, but due to his poor vision, I knew he would need a bigger one anyhow. We took the TV. I put his name on the box in his room. I called the very next morning to ask that maintenance hang it for him. The call i recieved today was that there was an altercation with my dad about the couch. 1. Had they done what they were supposed to do, the TV would HAVE ALREADY BEEN HUNG UP!!! 2. He would be less likely to fixate on a couch near a TV! 3. His so-called friend would not have been able to just walk off with it! This shows me there is little supervision going on at this facility, zero follow up between what they say will be done. This was absolutely preventable. I will be filing charges and am very much on the verge of contacting adult protective services as they have also informed me that they dont even know who their social worker is. And they want my dad's money? For what? To pay for them to let people walk off with belongings and not question it? Belongings that would have been secured had they actually done their job in the first place? I may be very swamped in every direction lately, but I am far from stupid. That is poor judgement and follow up all the way around. What else do people just walk off with? From a memory care unit, to boot. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Was a patient in this facility for several days, my roommate was never given a bath and just left in his bed. The STNAs' favorite line is "I will be back" and they never return to help. I was forced to AMA from the facility with no other recourse. The DON, Asst DON, and Facility Adm conspire to keep residents under complete control, as if they are children. While there I was IV therapy and due to poor nursing care did not receive my therapy as prescribed. I was forced to AMA with no outpatient plan for my care.
The staff treated my loved one, who was a patient in the rehabilitation unit, as well as our whole family with amazingly great care. Nurses & aides responded to all of the patient's needs in a very timely fashion. All our needs & requests were met. Physical therapy was second to none in my opinion, offering assistance and advice about the patient's condition & follow-up therapy. The staff works together always to do what is best for the patient.
Our resident rooms offer a peaceful and home-like environment where your loved one can feel at ease.
