PASSAVANT RETIREMENT AND HEALT

I am so thankful that God led me to Lutheran Senior Life Passavant Community in Zelienople, PA three years ago. Each day here has been a real Blessing! Passavant is amazing! The Marketing department goes above and beyond to make sure you find your perfect home here. When you move here you will find a community full of instant friends! It is a continuing care facility and provides care for whatever a person needs the rest of their life. There are independent cottages and apartments of various sizes. In the main building there are nursing floors, rehab floors, memory care, PT, OT, a clinic with x-ray where several doctors, and specialists provide medical care for any resident that wants to take advantage of not having to travel to an office in nearby communities. All residents receive an emergency device to wear so if they fall, feel bad and press it, help will arrive in a matter of minutes. The administration and the staff have a real passion for taking care of all the residents and are always available to hear concerns and suggestions from the residents. In fact there is a meeting each month called Face to Face with Laura (our executive director) to give us updates and answer any questions about the status of our community. There is a Welcome Ambassador and Advisor Volunteer program. Each new resident is assigned an Ambassador and an Advisor to help them get acclimated to their new home/community and meet new people. Passavant offers so many amenities from a fitness center with a therapy pool and exercise classes to a closed circuit TV station which broadcasts exercises, announcements, programs presented by our residents and much more. A full time minister who leads services in our chapel including Sundays, Communion, Memorial Services and is on call for those who may need other spiritual help. There is bus service to other local churches also. There are so many activities available as well as volunteer opportunities in which we can participate I cannot list them all. There is definitely something for anyone that wants to be involved. Last but not least there are three restaurants available operated by CURA with various fast foods or breakfast, lunch and evening menus a person can choose. Basic groceries can also be ordered. During the Covid 19 pandemic our director was quick to put all of us on a stay at home policy. and residents made masks for everyone in our community. People from outside were not allowed to visit nor were contractors who had started some renovations. All meals were either picked up at front entrance or delivered, as residents were not allowed in the main building, as there were nursing floors there. The assisted living facility was also on a lock down. We have been really blessed for at this point we have had zero cases of Covid 19. ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT. My mother has been there almost a year from rehab to assisted living to rehab and now full nursing care. They care they take of her and the concern and care for her family is exceptional. We have NO complaints or concerns. From management, to nursing, to dining room and housekeeping - she get great care. They go beyond what is expected and the personal touch is so deeply heartfelt. I sleep better knowing that she is in good hands. Small things are huge. Her night aide visits her even though she is no longer in her care. The same is true of the housekeeper who stops in to see her but is no longer cleaning for her. The kitchen staff does a great job and also makes sure that I am ok. The nursing and managerial staff are so caring of her and the family. We could not ask or better care,

My husband and I have been here 6 years. We like the many programs, day trips, classes, and volunteer opportunities available. Our dining service offers a variety of good food and good service. The fitness center and pool offers many classes with excellent and caring instructors. Nurses on campus are available 24/7 for emergencies. The campus is safe and great for walks and the gardens in the summer are beautiful. It is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants of Zelienople. Currently we live independently in a cottage. It is a great comfort to know when we need another level of care we will be well taken care of and our friends are close by.

We moved into Passavant Retirement Community five years ago and we love it. It was a great decision. We can walk to downtown Zelienople, people are very friendly and the staff have been wonderful. In fact, my mother-in-law also moved into personal care three years ago and then was moved to skilled nursing. The staff took excellent care of her at both levels and we were pleased with their professionalism. I highly recommend this community. We had looked at 15 retirement communities and I think we chose the best.

I haven't been here very long, but so far everyone has been very kind and helpful. When I was having some allergy issues, they even brought in an ozone machine to help clean the air in my cottage and let me stay overnight (with my two cats) in the Abundant Life Center. I really like the location of Passavant: close enough to Pittsburh for easy access but with a small town feel. The campus is beautiful and I am looking forward to being more settled and taking advantage of the indoor pool and other amenities. My husband had to spend some time in the nursing care unit and we were very pleased with the care he received there.
