SURGERY CENTER OF BOERNE

"The nurses are great. The admin and at least ONE Anesthesiologist sucks. My aunt (70+ yrs old and multiple strokes so I'm her caregiver) was scheduled for 2 epidural back injections, she gets extremely anxious so they put her under, always. We received a phone call 2 days prior to confirm the appointment...but they informed me that a $100 deposit will be required for the anesthesia. I said, NO, my aunt's insurance has ZERO co-pay. They argued, I argued and we hung up. They called me FIVE times, finally the Anesthesiologist himself called me the day before the procedure to try and convince me that insurance has changed, and they now require the $100 up front. I told him NO, the insurance has NOT changed (Medicare Advantage with Medicaid), and he tried convincing me that anesthesia was "different" and Medicare has changed how they pay. I informed him that Medicare has NOT changed since my aunt got this policy (8 months ago), and we would NOT pay him an extra $100 up front. I had to hang up on him because he was obnoxious and belligerent and not listening to my objections. It is ILLEGAL in Texas to try this .... we do NOT have to pay extra for anesthesia if we have a procedure done by a covered surgeon in a covered facility. So the next morning he refused to treat my aunt and she had to undergo her procedure in an agitated state with no anesthesia. We will NEVER GO BACK to this facility....they're starting to do some shady underhanded BULLYING tactics on the elderly, and I will not tolerate it."
