Applewood Home for Elders

Our mother was a resident of Applewood for the final few years of her life. If you are searching for a comfortable, safe, home-like residence for your loved one, Applewood is the place. It is located in a lovely, quiet, and peaceful country setting. The owners and staff provide a warm, familiar environment for their residents. Applewood decorates beautifully for each holiday and they offer special entertainment throughout the year for residents to enjoy. There are multiple activities for those who wish to participate, including a craft room, a jigsaw puzzle set up in the hallway and a movie playing in the day room. The front visiting room has a piano, television, fireplace, and many comfortable chairs for spending time with your family and friends. Applewood has many large windows for the residents to enjoy the trees, birds, and butterflies that grace the lovely grounds. Our mother spent many hours sitting outside on the patio enjoying the summer breezes and the autumn colors. It was her favorite spot. My family highly recommends Applewood.

Applewood is such a wonderful place. It's spotless and beautiful. My Mom loved it there. She liked everything about it, the food, the people and especially her room. Lori Warner, the owner, is the best. She truly cares about Applewood's residents and staff. My Mom received great care while she was there, the staff went above and beyond making sure my Mom was comfortable and well taken care of. I'd recommend Applewood to anyone.

It seems to me that people really enjoy living at Applewood Home for Elders. It’s clean, the rooms are spacious and the grounds outside are beautiful for walking. There are lots of activities to keep the residents busy and the staff is warm and very friendly. Lori and her staff really care about the residents at Applewood, and that’s the most important thing.

I have been in and out of Applewood Home For Elders here and there over the past 6 years, but I didn't understand the level of sincere love and selfless work that pours out of the team of caretakers until I spent about a week there while visiting my grandmother. I spent the last week of my grandmother's life visiting her in her room at Applewood, and I was so touched and humbled by what I witnessed in the staff. The caretakers were so focused on my grandmother's needs and comforts, and they were also focused on my family and making sure that all of our needs were being met and that we understood and were in agreement with everything they were doing. They worked extremely well together. Each worker was skilled at bringing their own unique gifts and personal touches to their work. They each had a slightly different way of speaking to and caring for my grandmother, and it was absolutely beautiful. There was not a single need that was not met. Their level of professionalism and expertise was apparent in everything they did, and they did it all with such heart. I am so grateful that my grandmother spent the last years of her life in such loving, capable hands. Applewood has been consistently amazing, day and night, through every chapter, every season, the fun and the sad, year after year. Some of it was not easy, but I consider my grandmother's placement in their care one of the greatest gifts of this whole difficult season.

Clean and homey. Wonderful, caring, friendly staff and atmosphere. We were so heartbroken when it came time to find a place to care for our father. Applewood has helped us all transition and accept the changes.
