Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay

I have both parents in Discovery Village. My mother is in memory care. Dad is in independent living.. The staff is absolutely positive and happy. We have enjoyed Discovery Village for the past year. I attribute the success of both facilities to Nicole. She works after hours, rolls up her sleeves and is always positive , happy and reassuring. Discovery Village staff has become family. This is absolutely the best place to live. The people that live here are so happy. It is like a cruise ship that has run aground.

My husband is a relatively new resident (4 months) at Assisted Living at Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay. Both my husband and I are extremely happy with his improved quality of life and well being at Discovery Village. I never expected to see the surprising progress he's made since he moved in - both physically and emotionally he's much more independent and engaged with life! I spend lots of time with him and in fact I decided to move into Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay's Independent Living community which is located within the same campus as Assisted Living to be near him. Win - win! :-) What makes Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay so outstanding? * the top notch management team and the entire staff who are experienced, knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful, and extremely effective making the residents happy. * the residents are a diverse, upbeat, and welcoming group * the apartments and community spaces are lovely and well appointed, and extremely safe from any hazards * amenities, events, and services are amazing * food is excellent - there are so many choices * onsite medical services and support is great Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay...thank you and well done!

A beautiful, new building that’s been home to us for 9 months. The staff is caring, the food is excellent, the activities plentiful and residents are happy to be here and friendly and welcoming to all. We enjoy the resort vibe of the community where our apartment has beautiful finishes and the entire complex has amazed our family and made us grateful to call Discovery our home.

My in -laws are at Discovery and could not be happier. Initially, we were met by Michel Parker who could not be more patient and trully concerned about our parents well being. He is always concerned about our well being.The food is always great. The variety of menu options are amazing. the chef (John) won #1 in Florida for all retirement homes in a state wide contest.

We love Discovery Village! It’s beautiful, and has a resort like feel , or like being on a cruise ship. The pool and outdoor grounds are gorgeous. It is the perfect place for our dad, and we are so thankful for all the staff. Each and every member of the Discovery Village staff that we have interacted with have been patient, kind and truly helpful. I can’t emphasize this enough; from Nicole, and Bethany, to Angela, Pam, Deb, Michael, Madison, Nick.. they all set the tone that this is a fun place to live and work and people who live there and visit pick up on the positive vibe. I could literally name everyone….the housekeeping staff, maintenance guys, front desk, business office, wait staff…. Just fantastic. They hire great people who seem to truly enjoy interacting with each resident. The people who live here also make the place what it is, and it’s also dog friendly which adds to the upbeat atmosphere. My husband and I had the wonderful experience of staying in their guest suite for a few days and got to really feel what it is like there. Residents we spoke with seem genuinely happy, and told us how much they love being there. I started to get to know residents from visiting this past year and going to the dining room with our Dad, and they were great. It’s funny to say, but the bar area is the heartbeat of the place. It serves food from 11 a.m to 7 pm. and is located on the first floor, and often feels like there is an event going on. People gather there to talk at tables or around the bar, and it has music and positive energy there. It feels inviting from the moment you walk in. They bring in live musicians once a week and make it an actual event. The residents of the apartments in the independent living building are more active, and many use the pool, exercise room, putting green, theater, and attend interesting art groups and a multitude of activities and group outings. What a great thing to be able to go to a beautiful dining room and have a meal prepared by their amazing chef John. Fabulous meals, and the brunches… ! OMG We loved it! I’ve told some of our local friends who are tired of doing home repairs and are getting closer to selling up and enjoying life, that this is the place to be! An amazing place.
