Granvida Senior Living and Memory Care
Granvida Senior Living and Memory Care is a licensed residential care elderly located in Carpinteria, California, specializing in memory care services for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) provide non-medical care and supervision in a homelike setting for people 60 years and older who are unable to live independently.
Granvida Senior Living and Memory Care has a licensed capacity of 83 residents. Services include assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management. RCFEs also provide meals, housekeeping, laundry, social activities, and 24-hour supervision. Many offer specialized care for residents with memory impairment.
Who We Serve: RCFEs serve older adults who need assistance with daily activities but do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care. Residents may include those with early to mid-stage dementia, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions.
Memory Care Services: This facility offers specialized memory care services, including staff trained in dementia care techniques, activity programming designed for cognitive engagement, and appropriate safety measures. When evaluating memory care options, families should consider staff training, staff-to-resident ratios, security features, and the approach to managing behavioral symptoms.
Licensing: RCFEs in California are typically licensed by the Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services under Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.
Payment Options: In California, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW). Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact California Department of Health Care Services or visit https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/ltc/Pages/AssistedLivingWaiver.aspx to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.
Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. You can verify this facility's license and view inspection reports at California's facility search. For more information about assisted living regulations in California, visit California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

My brother has been living at GranVida for three months now. I researched a number of senior assisted living and memory care residences in the area and was so impressed by the building and amenities. He was able to move in quickly and it is such a godsend to have him cared for by the incredible staff at GranVida. He is safe and feels welcome by staff and residents. He loves his studio and all the activities that are offered. GranVida is the perfect place for him. The staff are extremely caring friendly and conscientious. I can’t say enough about what a wonderful senior residence GranVida is.
This facility lacks leadership and professionalism. The absence of respectful care of resident was very concerning . My family member was not respected at his end of life at this facility. He lived there for more than 4 years. He died without dignity and appropriate care. The aids lack appropriate training as well. I watched several caregivers go from one residents room to another after helping clean the residents after soiling themselves with the same pair of gloves. I also witnessed the aids draining a urinal into the residents sink instead of a toilets. I would never recommend GranVida in Carpinteria CA to anyone.
The first day that we got there, everyone was so wonderfully nice careful and really caring but as soon as we left, it was not good. The worst ever we put my in-laws in there and they didn’t even last a week. My father-in-law had nobody to help him. He fell down and broke his hip and there is Covid running rampant in the place and they don’t even tell anybody they also promised to get the phone hooked up for them which they never did in the week and a half that they were there and did not take my mother-in-law to the hospital after they promised her that they would to go see my father-in-law he’s 93 and she is 87. This is ridiculous.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Gran Vida. They took care of my dad and our entire family during some of our darkest days with the greatest love and support. I will always be grateful for everyone at Gran Vida and will go just to visit them.
Granvida Senior Living maintains a very pleasant living environment for residents and their families. It has excellent facilities and grounds and a very helpful and pleasant staff.
