Would not recommend. They overcharged by thousands (for services not provided), charged additional fees during Covid, did not regularly clean room/bath, provided subpar meals, failed to provide some meals when residents were restricted to their rooms, and discussed medical care details in the hallway in front of other residents. They have failed to refund overcharges despite documentation and refuse to provide requested records. High staff turnover makes it nearly impossible to communicate. There are much better options out there, do not believe their sales pitch.
Care givers..there are some great ones but Makenna is the best! She really cares about the residents and their needs! She always is friendly and very helpful. She keeps a smile on her face no matter what. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is happy and safe.
In my opinion this is a bait and switch industry. After an intake interview to determine my care cost I was told my total monthly total cost would be $5492.00. Imagine my surprise to receive a bill the beginning of February for another $2550.00 which I refuse to pay. They accepted my $5492.00 payment. At no time I was told that amount was incorrect. Now they want me to pay $8000.00 a month which I wont pay. Also staffing is inconsistent. Staff quits a lot. For the first 2 weeks care is great then it slacks off. Because I’m an invalid I need toilet assistance. I’ve actually had to call the front desk several times after waiting an hour or more for assistance. I wouldn’t recommend this place. All they care about is money not people.
I have lived in the CDA Brookdale Independent Living facility for 3+months. Just like in any work place I have given this what I think is a fair assessment after 90 days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The service here in the dining rooms is great on a steady basis, our servers are polite and attentive. There was a disturbance by a resident that was both disturbing for the staff as well as residents, Yvette Serrano, Business Office Coordinator, took charge and quickly diffused the disturbance in a polite, firm, authoritative voice that left no question as to how or when the problem was solved! The meals are wonderful. They serve such a variety that there is never a question as to whether or not you can find plenty to eat. If you do order something you end up not liking, ie.,Sloppy Joe mix too spicy for you, the staff encourages you to pick another entree to replace that serving. I have seen this over and over. The staff literally points out that this is your home and they are here to please you and make your life as pleasant as possible. The facilities are clean! At all times. Dining room floors are cleaned after every meal. Housekeeping is on top of a spill or sweep cleanup within minutes of being called. The staff makes a point of greeting each of us by name, (Quite a feat!) with a smile and a “How are you Caryl? or “Is there anything I can do for you, Caryl? The staff is pleasant and polite, the place is clean, the food variety at meals is incredible and the food varies from week to week and month to month. I’m beyond satisfied. Sincerely, Caryl Walker. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have a in home client at brookedale in cda and as much as I love the dinning procedures and how they have a true restraraunt style system I don't like that I've had to wait 30 min on a room tray that I'm directed to deliver for said client or that there are several caregivers wearing leggings. Being someone whom used to work in a facility it is important to wear appropriate clothing and to tend to your residents. In this 30 minute wait by the dinning room I've seen the employees in skin tight leggings and on their phones when residents are trying to hold a conversation. You should always be aware of whom may be watching and I've seen enough to say this is NOT how a facility with CAREING staff should do business. I would not trust my mother here. If people are willing to stand and ignore the residents because their phones are more important than who knows what else they would put their phones in front of. A fallen resident, a choking resident that can't even say they are choking? keep eyes on clients/residents at all times. Not to mention the foul language I've heard. They are adults yes but we as employees need to observe dignaty ourselves and a dignified person can come up with more appropriate language
