Montclair Assisted Living

Trying to find the right place for assisted living is difficult on its own. Finding a place for Mom to call home is a relief. After doing weeks of research and visiting numerous independent and assisted living facilities we chose Montclair because of the close knit atmosphere. Everyone I encountered at Montclair was kind and welcoming, they genuinely care about the residents. I also spoke to several residents and a friend who had placed her mother there - everyone had only positive comments about the level of care provided at Montclair. The Director Pat and Yolanda were wonderful to work with and made sure everything was in place before my mother arrived. I highly recommend Montclair.

My wife and I lived here for two months before we had to leave because I needed emergency open heart surgery. We enjoyed living there. The staff were well qualified and always there when we needed them. The food was well-prepared and plentiful. We were also able to participate in many social events of the neighboring Clairmont Place Condo Association. We found it to be a caring and comfortable community.

My dad moved into Montclair in July 2024. He is very content with his new home. The staff is attentive to his needs and provides him with outstanding compassionate care.

Review of Montclair Assisted Living Facility I wanted to write this review as the Montclair very recently has been certified as an assisted living facility and is now under new management. Some of the reviews I’ve seen are from when it was still a personal care facility or even from several years ago, and so are out of date. Over the years I have had several friends who have resided at the Montclair and whom I have visited there. Often, they were individuals who had lived at Clairmont Place Condo Association, but then needed more assistance than an independent living facility could provide. All of them were grateful that the Montclair was available to them, some even remarking that the Montclair was the very best option for them or their loved one. During the past few years, and even most recently, I have observed many positive changes in the Montclair. The staff is always available 24/7, but now have proper training for an assisted living facility – this training is more rigorous than required for a personal care facility. The available activities for Montclair residents also have greatly expanded, with some of those activities combined with activities for those in independent living (e.g., weekly outings and musical performances). There now are on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy available as well as on-site outside vendors for hair salon, podiatry, and massage therapy. My husband and I have lived at Clairmont Place since 2015 and own our condo in this independent living condo association. For us, this has been one of the best decisions that we have made, as we have found it to be a caring and loving community of friends. This care and love has spilled over to the Montclair, which follows the philosophy of Person Centered Care: Caring from the heart, with staff respecting the resident choices and decisions.

1. Spent a week in Montclair - the result of cracking a bone in a leg. was really good for these reasons: 1. My room was neatly furnished and big enough to practice walking. 2. The staff: wonderful!(Everyone I talked to agreed.) 3. It was close to my home and I was able to get extra clothes, etc. 4. There was good light for reading. 5. The tv screen was big and sharp 6. The food was good and there was a good coffee table. I could go on, but this is enought
