I love it here.its a wonderful place to live. the food is good and everything is always clean. I have even recommended some of my friends to move in and a few of them have! Ken can fix anything and he's always so kind and helpful. Alyysha in the office is another one of my favorites. She is always smiling and no matter what the problem she finds a solution. Gonzalo is one of my favorites. He is so patient and kind. This is more than just a place to live.
Overall I have been happy with the care my mom has received at Atria. The staff is caring and helpful and treat the residents like family.
My grandmother is a resident in the dementia section. Yesterday, she was found on the floor. We’re not quite sure how. Luckily, she had no injuries, but had to go to the ER because her dementia prevents her from making medical decisions and forming complete sentences. Here’s where everything gets sketchy: When we went to the ER, the nurse spoke to us and gave us a copy of the chart, which includes statements/observations from the EMS crew that brought her in. According to EMS, they were actually called for somebody else and found my grandmother on the floor while on the way to the person they were called for. There was no staff present - just other dementia residents, who unfortunately no longer had the ability to recognize that my grandmother needed help. Nobody was able to tell EMS how long my grandmother was on the floor or what actually happened that resulted in her being there. Supposedly, when a staff member finally appeared, they told EMS that they couldn’t take her because they didn’t call 911 for her. I don’t understand how 1) you leave a group of individuals that can’t make their own decisions unsupervised, and 2) how medical personnel find a potentially injured person and you tell them they can’t intervene. Absolutely despicable.
The executive manager is unresponsive regarding rental increases, and the only activity regularly offered is bingo, which is very limited. I doubt my aunt will still be here in 2026.
Breakfast is awesome. You get a large offering of whatever you prefer. From poached eggs to a personalize omelettes. I look forward to partaking in the various daily exercise classes that are offered. I also enjoy working out on my own on the bike and using the weights. While here at Atria, I have made some great friends. Every night after dinner, we look forward to watching the movie of the night. We also enjoy the variety of activities that are offered.
