I was actually considering suggesting this location for my Aunt’s care, but it appears, after seeing the reviews, that the facility has gone DOWN over the years! It is devastating that our elderly cannot get the compassion they deserve because their “caregivers” only care about getting a paycheck! Definitely not suggesting The Blake!
Really horrible facility!!! I wouldn’t recommend my pet to go live here !! The executive director Nancy is really rude to people and try’s to pretend she’s professional, she never comes out that office to mangle with her residents or staff ! Management all the way around is unprofessional there’s no stability in this facility. ZERO STARS !!! Place needs to be shut completely down or build a new management team .
I waited awhile to write this review so it was not written out of fresh frustration. I was in contact with the Blake for a month regarding respite stay for my partner. I spent a lot of time corresponding with multiple people electronically, had the nursing director out to our house for an evaluation and left work to visit the facility. I was given a tour by their activities director who was pleasant. The inside of the facility was nice looking. I was brought to the respite room my partner, Steve, would stay in and it was dirty but I was assured that it would be cleaned before his stay. I left thinking that this place would give me the break I desperately need. I have been the sole caregiver for my partner since his brain injury on Christmas 2018. I got in contact with them after my visit to let them know that I would like him to stay there. That's when I was told that the regional nursing director would make the decision as to whether they could care for him. I was never told that for over a month of communication with multiple individuals. I ended up having to bring him with me on my travels because I never heard from anyone ever again. To this day I have not heard from The Blake. I am beyond disappointed with The Blake. This was a very stressful situation that no caregiver seeking help should have to deal with. If I could give zero stars, I would.
This facility deserves no stars. Google is making me chose a star to accept and leave my review! Please consider hiring a caregiver to watch your loved ones when you leave your residence at The Blake at Woodcreek Farms. During the day the administrators leave between 4:00 P.M. -5:00 P.M. After the administrators leave nurses are careless and treat residents there any way they chose with arrogant yelling voices at senior citizens and disrespect. My mother was treated horribly and has left the facility after being there for only two weeks! My mother is out of the facility and very happy she is gone. Nurses did not give my mother the medications when she was supposed to. No medication was given to her for a complete six days to help with insomnia I saw on the nursing record, and didn't clean her laundry which made my mother wash her clothes by hand. I reported various additional practices that were unprofessional I witnessed to DHEC. Most of the information was from my privately hired caregiver who stayed after hours from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. daily. I was appalled and irate by the treatment received by the nurse and administrator at this facility and completely shocked by what my caregiver told me. Hiring an additional caregiver could be expensive for some, but a privately hired caregiver is needed when leaving your loved ones in the hands of an unprofessional nurse facility that should be shut down immediately.
My father was a resident there. They did not change his Depends for SEVEN days! They denied him prescribed medication. The marketing on the front-end of the Blake is great, but the care is substandard. The food was very institutionalized. The night-person in charge (who also denied his medication as prescribed) sat on the front sofa and played video games on her phone. Completely unprofessional. We could not trust the care there and had to "babysit" and manage his care team - not a role we wanted to be in for the thousands of dollars paid every month. The offered no restitution for the care not received.
