Graceful Living Adult Family Home LLC

Olga and her staff took care of my father during the end stages of his life and made his stay at Graceful Living Adult Family Home a comfortable and peaceful one until his passing. What impressed me most about Graceful Living, while searching for a ADF, was the quiet professionalism of the staff, the absolute cleanliness of the facility in general, and (most importantly) the positive demeanor of the residents living under Olga's care. After interviewing five other homes (to see if any of them could match Graceful Living), I decided to go with the obvious choice - and I am thankful I did. My Dad was well-cared for and felt safe, and the lines of communication between Olga and my family were open and clear.

Our experience was as well as could be expected. My mom entered the home in hospice, so what we needed was a place of peace for those last few weeks. This was definitely a home where peace was achieved and it was a great opportunity to say goodbye. The care was excellent and the attentiveness to our needs was always met. The owner had excellent skills, but the support staff was somewhat inexperienced though well trained and courteous.

My wife Pat entered GracefulLiving AFH on 3/16/21. She had been suffering from a stroke she had in 2013. I cared for her over those years. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and dementia in late 2020. It came to a point that I could no longer care for her, so our family's decision was to have her placed into an AFH. My daughter and I surveyed 5 or 6 AFH's for Pats placement with the help of a placement advisor, a professional in this field. My daughter and I settled on GracefulLiving AFH. First, we were very impressed with the owners Olga & Sean Webster. We met them at the home and soon after at my home to meet Pat and to explain their program and care. Olga is outstanding in her management of the home as well as her hands on care for the residence. Her personal quality of care is of the highest and expects none the less of her caregivers. Sean's roll is one of facility maintenance for the most part of which he does a great job. The facility is clean and all functions of the facility are in great shape and working because of his management in that regard. Pat passed on 11/4/23 from complications of Alzheimer's and dementia and had been placed in hospice care. But to the very end, she received the very best and compassionate care while at GracefulLiving AFH. I thank Olga and Sean and their team for their warm and loving care for my wife as well as their open communication with myself and our family. Our experience was highly disconcerting. Please consider our shared testimony. We brought our elderly grandmother to this facility in a relatively stable condition and within the span of as short as 1 day we no longer recognized our family member. She appears to be in a heavily drug-induced stupor and soon no longer eating and entering a vegetative stage. The day before we left her there she was mobile and talkative and a baseline normal for her had been established, I wish I knew she would never talk to us again so I would have said goodbye. We were excited for her to have a new home with 24hour care. Within the first week we consulted our doctor and expressed our concern for her appearing too drugged up, no longer talks, wakes up or eats. Our doctor responded no problem just advise the care taker and they should accomodate. Something that seemed to be an easy fix turned into nightmare. It was a weirdly veiled threat with regular passive aggression. We had nowhere to take her to so we tried to come to a resolve and gently inquired about the prescriptions. She retorted with hostility and implied we do not trust her. We gently backed away and tried to ask the doctor to simply alter the prescription so that we didn’t have to deal with her directly. The doctor changed the prescription to our favor accordingly to which lasted less than 24 hours, she ended up calling the doctor herself, circumventing our communication and increasing the prescription. Needless to say she added comments like “don’t feed her” which was odd because our elderly was eating up until the day she arrived at the family home. This made our burial so much more difficult as she quickly declined under those conditions. We are very unhappy with this experience that added to our grief. It is our opinion the person charged with taking care of our family member was intent on sedating her so significantly that it accelerated her deterioration. We understand that things of this nature can change trajectory, but the consistency we established coupled with the sharp decline of her condition strongly suggests negligent oversight. In the house few elderly people that never heard them or see them walking. Positives; the house was very clean and maintained. The staff were very nice and followed the owners/care takers directions. Overall we would not recommend this place.

Olga and her staff made my mothers stay there warm, pleasant and wonderful. They were very compassionate with their care and my mother was as comfortable there as she was at home. Any questions or concerns we had, very few!, were answered and addressed quickly and professionally. I cannot recommend this place high enough!
