I strongly recommend moving your loved ones to this facility. We are so happy with the care and environment at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods. My mom is 93, and we were initially concerned that relocating her at this age might increase her confusion. But the opposite has happened — she’s truly thriving. She’s more alert, engaged, and participates in more activities tailored to individuals with dementia. The residents and staff are incredibly welcoming, and the staff, in particular, are caring, loving, and attentive. It’s a wonderful place that brings peace of mind to families.

To say that Sunrise Senior Living in Grosse Pointe does an excellent job is truly an understatement. From the moment we made the decision for a family member to move into assisted living, the transition was guided by a team of professional and experienced Directors who ensured every detail was handled with care. Their support made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and reassuring. The staff are remarkably kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in the residents’ well-being. Their commitment to meeting each person’s needs is clear—everyone seems to know the residents personally and responds promptly and compassionately. The nursing director is especially dedicated, coordinating physician rounds as well as dermatology and other specialty providers who visit regularly. This makes life much easier by reducing the need for some of the outside appointments, which can be difficult to arrange and travel to. The dining experience is another highlight, with a daily menu that offers a variety of high-quality, delicious options. Sunrise has truly thought of everything, from meals to medical care, and it shows in the details. We’ve also appreciated the weekly music entertainment, the well-planned activities calendar, and the inviting family gathering activities room that has been perfect for special occasions. The convenient location is yet another plus. Overall, Sunrise Assisted Living in Grosse Pointe provides exceptional care and creates a warm, supportive, and well-appointed environment for residents and their families. The surprise has been how competitive the pricing is, especially considering the high level of service and amenities compared to other options we toured. We recently moved my mother from another state to Sunrise Grosse Pointe to be closer to family. My family and I have been impressed with the community. The staff and other residents have been so welcoming. The nurses, aides and other staff who work there seem to truly enjoy their work with the residents. She is encouraged to participate in activities and that has helped her settle into the community. As a family member, I appreciate that both administrative and medical staff are so approachable and helpful. I am pleased there was an available apartment when we needed one. I would highly recommend Sunrise Grosse Pointe.

My brother recently became a resident of Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods, due to the need for assisted living. Before deciding, I toured several possibilities, and quickly realized that there are a wide range of choices out there. The moment that I walked into Sunrise, I was immediately taken by the warmth, beauty, and attention to detail. I expected such an impressive community to come with a very high price tag. But to my surprise, the cost was quite reasonable compared to other options. The decision to choose Sunrise became an easy one - and meeting their sweet mascot dog, Dollie, sealed the deal!!!! At the time, I was recovering from knee replacement surgery, so my ability to help with the actual move was limited. Sunrise went out of their way to make things easier, even pointing out the convenience of the lower-level, secure garage parking, which meant that I never had to struggle with street parking or long walks. The maintenance coordinator, Chris, was also a huge help. He kindly assisted me with the assembly of a closet drawer organizer and other tasks, always with a warm, enthusiastic attitude. Another convenience that I truly appreciate is the on-site salon/barber shop, which adds to the sense of comfort and accessibility for residents. Also, my brother has thoroughly enjoyed the Thursday afternoon concerts, and many other activities offered. The staff at Sunrise are consistently friendly and attentive to resident needs. They quietly and quickly step in to handle countless responsibilities with professionalism and care. One moment that really impressed me was being there on a Sunday, and seeing the Executive Director working the front desk. This is not unusual, as their commitment is clearly obvious seven days a week, and her presence on a weekend spoke volumes about the dedication of the entire team. You will not be disappointed when you experience what Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods has to offer. In every way, it is truly, the “Rolls Royce” of Assisted Living!!

I would recommend Sunrise to everyone that is looking into assisted living for their parents. We moved my mom in beginning of June on Hospice care, as my mom had been battling lymphoma and it was no longer safe for her to live alone. We couldn’t have been happier with the care and staff that took care of my mom. Everyone there is friendly and they have great activities to keep residents engaged. We no longer had to worry if she was eating, she was getting three meals a day! And there are many residents that live there as a downsize, not just for Hospice care. Unfortunately my mom passed, but even going through that the staff was absolutely amazing! They treated us with such care and empathy and they do a final goodbye as the funeral home took my mom out. It was so beautiful and still makes me cry!!! Thank you Sunrise staff for making my last moments with my mom so incredibly peaceful and calming.
