Within the quaint and charming old town of Hallowell, we have found wonderful new friends and camaraderie here at Granite Hill. We are thankful to have met so many kind, outgoing, energetic, welcoming and helpful men and women, living vibrant, active and interesting lives. GHE offers many and varied amenities including social gatherings, intellectual pursuits, yoga, exercise, art, and so much more. Throughout the GHE acreage, where bucolic views, beautiful forests, and well maintained trails abound, many walk, hike, and snowshoe, or relax enjoying the sunshine and the views. The GHE cottages, apartments, and grounds are well tended and cared for with repairs and maintenance only a phone call away. Here at GHE we can truly "Take the Time to Enjoy Life" among friends who appreciate life and the environment, and where our family loves to visit.

Granite Hill is a beautiful community with the best residents anyone could ask for! When I come to work I feel like I am coming home.

My parents moved to a cottage at Granite Hill Estates in 2006, and my mother remained after she was widowed a few years later. My father knew that she would be well cared for if he passed away first. My mother loved exercises with Jayne, book group, and working in the library for many years. I became a resident and moved in with her when she couldn't live alone anymore, and I saw first-hand the benefits of living at Granite Hill. Everyone who worked there was attentive, friendly, and helpful, and the neighbors were thoughtful and kind. The campus is beautifully landscaped and peaceful, while the proximity of stores and other necessities enables one to do errands easily. I loved the space and privacy of living in a cottage while knowing that help was close by and that services such as snow plowing and trash pick-up were taken care of. My parents' decision to move to Granite Hill was the best thing they could have done, and the family is very grateful.

My husband and I have been cottage residents at Granite Hill Estates for 4 1/2 years. After several years of investigating retirement communities up & down the East Coast, we moved here from 1500 miles away. We are grateful to have found a true sense of community in a place that does not make us feel 'put out to pasture'. Our staff is The Best!! Many communities give much 'lip service' to residents' well-being; but our marvelous staff doesn’t just 'talk the talk': they walk the walk every day! Beautiful surroundings are more fulfilling when the people who work there are beautiful, too!

My mom was a resident in the memory care unit at Granite Hill for 2 1/2 years. We were very pleased with the care she received-the entire staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good; her room was quite comfortable, looking out onto a courtyard. It was most reassuring to know that she was in a safe, comfortable place, with a very caring staff. I highly recommend Granite Hill Estates!
