My mother has lived here in assisted living for the past two years. She likes it a lot. She likes the food and is happy. My personal experience is everyone is friendly, and loves my Mom. I will say that my mom is one of the most “loved by all” people I know. She never complains, she is polite and sweet. I cannot speak for the others if you have a loved one who acts otherwise. I will also say this, if you are thinking about placing your loved one in any facility, make sure you advocate for them and don’t just expect everything to go great. Let people see your presence and let your voice be heard. As a nurse, I can tell you that patients who have advocates get treated better. Is that fair? No. Is it true? Absolutely. And that’s anywhere you go. But all in all, thank you to everyone here who takes good care of my mother.
My mom has been residing at The Heritage for 6 months. The staff of this family owned assisted living is very welcoming and friendly. It is well maintained and very clean. She has plenty of space in her shared room. Everyone is very understanding of my moms dementia while living amongst the residents. If I call with a question or concern, they are there to discuss and try to work out the matter at hand. They have many activities, she loves playing bingo! I visit her often and she seems to be very happy! I feel confident in between visits that she is in a safe and caring environment. Thank you to everyone who looks out for my mom!
My mom has been at Heritage for quite some time and has required more care most recently. The staff transitioned immediately with her care plan, and overseeing her safety, while continuing to extend warmth and respect for her. I receive updates often whether during my frequent visits or by phone. From my experiences, the staff is always willing to help.
If you love your family member I beg you NOT to move them into this facility. The place is horrible. Unorganized, understaffed, and the aides act as if they're doing you a favor when you ring your call bell for help or for medication. I've witnessed on multiple occasions where my family member rang the bell and waited over an hour for anyone to come into the room. I've also witnessed multiple times where my loved one was skipped right over and never taken to the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And when I went to the cafe asking for their lunch tray. I was handed a mystery meat salad sandwich and stale chips. I couldn't wait until my loved one moved out of that place. It's not assisted living. It's neglect until you die.
This place is horrible. My grandmother is here and is upstairs in the locked unit. The aids are nasty and yell at the residents, the place smells horrible, it's dirty and they don't assist their residents. They all sit around and just yell at the poor elders. My grandmothers clothes were on another resident and all her food went missing in a matter of hours. They are treated like caged animals. I have never seen group activities even though it's on a calander. Good luck getting the owner to call you back. That never happens.. please stay far away. I wouldn't give this place any stars. I spoke to another resident. In the parking lot who had the same issues. If your parent has to go on Medicaid, this is where they go. It's sad.
