Legacy AFC

I had the pleasure of working beside Shelly (administrator) and Chelsey (Manager) outside of the AFC in a long term care facility setting. They always showed compassion, love and care to the residents they provided care too. Shelly is a wonderful nurse and always giving. After she pursued her life dream of owning an AFC, I again see her love and compassion for the people she serves. The AFC is located on a beautiful setting and family operated. Shelly and her family show love to her residents and include them in all family gatherings. Welcoming her resident’s into her family because they are family to her. Legacy AFC was highly recommended as a facility where our parents could live together and get the help and care they needed when they were no longer able to live independently. Shelly, the Legacy owner lives full time on the property, and with her staff, treated our parents as extended family. They took the time to really get to know them and prepared favorite recipes as part of the regular home cooked meals provided and shared family style with all residents at the huge table in the dining room. They had their own room together incorporating many of their own meaningful posessions. They were well cared for and our family knew they were safe living at Legacy. Legacy is in a country setting with wildlife to observe, as well as "house" dogs and a cat to comfort and entertain residents. Because it has a home like ambiance with daily living tailored to the residents (meals, favorite TV shows, movies, music, hobbies and activities), there was always something to look forward to. Shelly, the owner is a credentialed nurse and has managed a large nursing facility. She chose to open her own facility, Legacy, with fewer residents allowing for individual attention personally and medically and our family benefitted on many levels. Additionally, Legacy was very affordable, especially compared to a conventional nursing home. Thank you Shelly for your kindness to and care of our parents and our family.
