Lake Gibson Village
Lake Gibson Village is a licensed assisted living facility located in Lakeland, Florida. Florida Assisted Living Facilities range from small residential homes to large communities. Facilities may hold specialty licenses for Limited Nursing Services (LNS), Extended Congregate Care (ECC), or Limited Mental Health (LMH).
Lake Gibson Village has a licensed capacity of 143 residents. Services typically include assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating), medication management, meals, housekeeping, laundry, social and recreational activities, transportation, and 24-hour staff availability. Some facilities offer specialized memory care.
Who We Serve: Assisted Living Facilities serve older adults and people with disabilities who need help with daily activities but do not require the 24-hour skilled nursing care provided in nursing homes.
Licensing: Typically licensed by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
Payment Options: In Florida, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care Program. Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact Florida Agency for Health Care Administration or visit https://ahca.myflorida.com/medicaid/statewide_mc/smmc_ltc.shtml to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.
Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. You can verify this facility's license and view inspection reports at Florida's facility search. For more information about assisted living regulations in Florida, visit Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

The grounds are impeccable, definitely thought I was in West Palm Beach at a high class resort. The Carpenters' Home was the retirement home for members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America from 1929 to 1976. The Union completed the purchase of the 1,684 acre site in April 1924. Costing $632,393, the site included 594 acres of citrus groves. The purchase of additional citrus groves brought the total land owned to almost 2,000 acres. The Carpenters' Home was dedicated on October 1, 1928, and officially opened March 14, 1929. The home could accommodate up to 400 residents and included a lounge, library, dining room, hospital, and auditorium. In addition to the residence building, there was a power house, garage, laundry, and water tower. Amenities for the residents included movies in the auditorium, a recreation hall, a golf course, a fishing dock, and facilities for outdoor games such as shuffleboard. The Carpenters' Home closed in 1976, and the building later served as a church school for many years. In 2011, the building was abandoned and fell into disrepair. In 2016, the building was rehabilitated with much of its original character and then returned to its former use as a senior living community.
My dad moved to Lake Gibson Village the end of May. He absolutely loves it and from the front staff, the dining room, the nurses on up to the Supervisors and activity director have been such a big help. Anytime I have questions or help they have not hesitated to be there for me. I live in Georgia and have stayed with my dad when I come to visit and seen them first hand with everything they do. Thanks to the staff for being such a blessing in the lives of all the residents and my dad. I know he loves each and every one of them and always has a smile.
2 years ago it was super, however it has really gone down hill. Food is horrible fried and portioned sizes are very small! Plus the building is falling apart. Between the roof leaks, mold, flooding, and water in every apartment for over a month. In the past 2 years there has been 2 floods causing renovations, and residents having to move out of their apartments into hotels, etc. Pics below show food and today.
My mother in law lived in this gorgeous building with amazing staff and such kind residents for 3 years. June was a year she went home to be with the Lord. Our family was so happy to have her at Lake Gibson Village and will highly recommend this beautiful community to anyone looking. Thank you all for loving Melva and helping us to take care of her. She loved each one of you dearly❤️
Amazing community! Engaging and caring with residents and staff. If you’re looking for a community for your loved one to thrive in, this is it! Saving Grace Senior Consulting is my business and I refer to them
