⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After visiting numerous memory care facilities, I can confidently say that Aegis Living Memory Care stands out as exceptional. While the building may not be the newest, the heart and soul of this place are truly unmatched. The staff here are simply incredible—warm, compassionate, and genuinely dedicated to the residents’ well-being. From the moment I walked in, their friendliness and care made me feel welcomed and at ease. What really touched me was seeing how happy and engaged the residents were. They weren’t just cared for; they were thriving, clearly enjoying their time here. The atmosphere felt like a true home, filled with warmth and connection. I left feeling confident that Aegis Living is a place where loved ones are not only safe but truly cherished. I wholeheartedly recommend this community to anyone seeking outstanding memory care.
Visiting my friend with dementia is heartbreaking, as it often feels like I’m visiting a shadow of who they once were. Despite the sadness, I make time to stop by and say hello whenever I can. I especially look forward to days with engaging activities, as they keep us both occupied and bring a bit of joy. Wednesdays are a highlight—we arrange flowers in vases for the residents, and it’s heartwarming to see their pride in their creations. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel at home every time I visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for its compassionate care and meaningful activities.
Google Review for Aegis Highly Recommended for Memory Care From the moment my sisters and I walked into Aegis, we felt a genuine sense of warmth, compassion, and professionalism. It’s more than just a care facility—it’s a community built on kindness, dignity, and respect. Mark Shaffer, the Residential Facility Manager, truly understands the needs of families with loved ones experiencing memory loss. He also understands the mindset of the individuals themselves and treats them with deep respect by honoring their identities and pasts. For example, he refers to my mom as “Doctor” and engages other residents as “consultants”—whether they were hairdressers, pharmacists, nurses, car dealership owners, or teachers. He encourages his staff to do the same, making residents feel seen and valued. Our family is beyond grateful for the exceptional care our mom has received. The staff are not only highly trained but also deeply empathetic—they treat every resident with dignity and compassion. Team members like Brittany, Blanca, Loki, Lily, Olivia, Molona, Carlos, Nemi, Partro, Princess, Portia, Peter, and Roel (and many more—especially the dedicated night shift staff whose names I haven’t yet learned) have gone above and beyond to ensure that residents are not only safe but also emotionally supported and actively engaged. I’ve witnessed these caregivers gently interacting with my mom—even discussing the family photos on her wall. Watching them encourage her to use the bathroom, wash up, and change clothes—without any force—is a testament to their patience and expertise. These moments bring our family tremendous comfort. The facility is clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed with resident safety and comfort in mind. The Daily Activity Program Directors, Jackie and John, are truly OUTSTANDING. They create a full schedule of engaging and meaningful activities that help residents stay mentally and socially active. Every day is thoughtfully planned—music and singing, art, exercise, trivia, flower arranging, and time outdoors all help bring structure and joy to the residents’ lives. Being a dedicated memory care facility, the Aegis team excels at stimulating brain function and involvement in ways that truly matter. Communication with families is also consistently excellent. Mark shared pictures and videos with us—especially during those crucial early weeks—knowing how anxious we were about our mom’s transition. John (Activities Co-Director) also sends regular updates with photos and videos of the events residents are participating in, along with information about upcoming activities. We always feel informed, involved, and supported. There are so many others who make Aegis truly exceptional: Karen and Lydia (RNs); Leticia (Care Director); Phil and Margarita (Chefs); Avery and Austin (Concierges). Everyone works together seamlessly. Shoutout to Phil, who even prepares rice with some sort of protein when my mom isn’t a fan of the main entrée. He takes pride in using fresh (never canned) ingredients, and the flavor reflects that dedication. And a very special shoutout to Avery, who consistently goes well beyond the expected responsibilities of a concierge. He’s not just stationed at the front desk—he’s constantly present, alert, and actively engaged in the daily life of the community. Whether it’s helping a resident find their way, assisting staff with transitions, or offering comforting words to visiting family members, Avery does it all with a calm, caring presence and a genuine smile. His attentiveness, warmth, and initiative speak volumes about his character and commitment—not just to his job, but to the well-being of everyone who walks through Aegis’s doors. Some of the first things our mom said after only a few days were: “This place is fun.” “The people are so nice here.” “I’m glad I ‘chose’ this place to live.” These were her spontaneous thoughts—unsolicited and heartfelt. Choosing Aegis has given us peace of mind and has provided our mom with a quality of life where she is truly cared for and respected.
Bonnie has been at 2 other places and noticably was not happy and was depressed and sad. Since she has been here you can notice change in her mood; everytime we come ans visit her - her nails hair is done and dressed, room is always cleaned, loves the activities and is engaging. Mom was very thin when she first came and and now has gained weight. Highly recommend Aegis, I love the staff!!
Such a wonderful home experience! A perfectly lovely building with a grand entrance into an oversized living room, complete with a baby grand piano! On many days, music fills the air, reminiscent of a bygone era. Residents are all treated like much loved family members, no matter their affliction. Snacks are passed out regularly as guest musicians gleefully ply their trade. Meals are served 3 times a day in a familiar dining room adjacent to the residents rooms. The food quality is nothing short of the most expensive restaurants around. And when it comes time for a walk, there are plenty of hallways with plentiful seating along the way. The outdoor experience here is excellent, with two separate park like atmospheres to choose from. Mini-putt golf? They've got it! Shaded seating? They've got it! I'm telling you, if you're considering a move for your loved one, you owe it to your family to visit Aegis Memory Care, conveniently located in Spring Valley, Las Vegas, NV.
