My experience with linden has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The front office staff is incredibly caring, attentive, and always goes above and beyond to ensure the residents feel at home. The facility is clean, beautifully maintained, and offers a variety of activities that keep residents engaged and happy. Knowing that my loved one is in a safe and nurturing environment gives me great peace of mind. I highly recommend linden to anyone looking for a caring and professional assisted living community!

I’m a physical therapist who has worked in multiple facilities in Dauphin and Lebanon county and Linden Village truly stands out: both from the infrastructure point and the outstanding care that's being provided to residents. Their four cozy cottages are a refreshing contrast to the monolithic soulless structures other facilities typically use. This layout gives residents both the feeling of coziness of a true home and allows the caregivers to monitor the patients more closely. I noticed it also gives the residents a sense of belonging. Every cottage has a maximum of 16 residents. Thus, they recognize their neighbors, sit together for activities and meals, chat and go for walks around the cottages or on the paths of the fenced-in gardens when the weather is nicer. The cottages are easy to navigate, which is an important factor when your loved one suffers from any form of dementia. The immaculately clean cottages also have tastefully furnished interiors including a calming fireplace in the main area as well as hallways full of bookshelves brimming with books and board games reminiscent of a true home. Yet, there is ample space to get around with a walker or a wheelchair safely. The staff and the caregivers are stellar. The nurses are very caring, provide informative answers and truly advocate for patients under their care. The caregivers treat the residents like family, engage them with chats, tend to their needs, communicate with families. Residents participate in activities at least twice daily and both the caregivers and the activity leaders engage everyone in mentally stimulating games, stories or clubs. Multiple local artists give concerts to residents every month which everyone always enjoys. Placing a family member in a facility is always a very heartbreaking and difficult decision to make. No facility can replace a person's home, but from my experience, Linden Village is the closest to a true home you could give to your loved one. I highly recommend it.

FECES - The decline of my father’s physical and mental health over the last months was triggered by a blockage of his urinary tract linked to his late-stage, metastatic prostate cancer. He suffers from dementia, carries a catheter 24 hours per day, and is incontinent. Linden Village, an assisted living facility offering care to dementia patients, assessed my father at Lancaster General Health, and was fully aware of his health when Linden agreed to accept him. He was transferred to Linden’s facility in Lebanon. Five days later, my father was admitted to a hospital for sepsis. My father survived thanks to high doses of powerful antibiotics and was sent back to Linden Village. During the following two weeks, he was sent back to the hospital several times for day-long visits because his catheter contained blood in his urine. [Any travel, no matter how short, by a patient with dementia will have a substantially negative impact on his mental state.] When I visited my father at Linden Village, I immediately saw that his bedsheets were soiled with feces. Within a couple of hours, I realized that he had been defecating in his sweatpants about twice per day without any briefs or underwear. Most, if not all, of the feces were dry, meaning that he had been carrying the feces in the vicinity of the catheter connection into his body for hours. I then decided to transfer him out of Linden Village without first having any conversations with Linden’s management, because I feared any delay in the transfer. Before the transfer, I had my father assessed by an experienced practitioner. Within minutes of her visit, she found dried feces lathered onto the tubing of his catheter. During her conversations with the employees, she also identified faults in their procedures. Without hesitating, I drove my father out of Linden Village.

My Mom was a resident in a dementia cottage for 4 to 5 years. I was very relieved and happy with her care. All of her basic needs were taken care of. She was safe, clean, warm and fed. She was entertained and stimulated. I was very happy with her care.

My mom was well attended by nurses and staff through her years suffering from dementia. They always took time to explain things when I had questions regarding my mom’s care. They were top notch in handling details when she needed medical transport. They encouraged her to attend activities planned for the residents and to eat her green beans 😬. The Director had an open-door policy to discuss any concerns. I would recommend this facility to anyone searching for assisted living for a loved one.
