We had a wonderful experience with Belmont Village. We looked at several options before choosing Belmont and we were so happy that this was the facility we chose for our father. He was welcomed and treated with kindness and wonderful care from day one. He was initially confused about his surroundings but the staff and residents were great at making him feel at home. He turned 100 after living there only 7 weeks and they planned an amazing party to celebrate his milestone birthday and the fact that he was one of the few surviving WWII veterans who landed on and secured the island of Iwo Jima. They reached out to elected officials in the city and state and our Dad was truly honored to receive commendations and recognition from multiple branches of government and the military. They even organized a jeep parade and truly made him feel like a hero. I can’t imagine a better experience for him, especially since we were so uncertain about putting into a facility. The location is great, the staff are all warm and caring and the activities are varied and well organized. He was much better around others than he had been when living at home with full-time care. As we had hoped, the socialization, outings and activities helped both his memory and his mood. He was stimulated and very comfortable once he settled into his new home. Our entire family highly recommends Belmont Village. It is a truly a home away from home.
I have been in assisted living at Belmont Village St. Matthews for over two years. It is an outstanding facility all around. The rooms are nice. The staff are excellent at all levels. The meals are good and are obviously planned with nutrition and healthy eating in mind. The activities are many, varied, and chosen to enhance cognitive function. I make special note of the care and empathy that some of the PALs (personal assistants) display. They work hard at making the residents feel at home, safe, and loved. I recommend it highly.
My father and mother moved to Belmont Village from another assisted living as their needs increased. While the other facility was nice, BV was far our best experience! Every staff member was caring and really knew my parents. Lots and lots of activities, and celebrations to keep residents engaged. The nursing staff is wonderful and they were very well-cared for. Memory patients can live with their spouse. I highly recommend Belmont Village for anyone looking for a wonderful assisted living facility!
My mom has been a resident at Belmont Village for over 10 years, first in the assisted living unit and later in the Memory Care unit. Our experience has been a rewarding one. Not only has mom received excellent care but most recently in the Memory Care unit, it feels like family. Most important to us has been the honest caring concern of staff. Many are long term employees with a true commitment to the residents in their care. They are very special people. I'm sure most facilities will provide good care but Belmont staff provide a step above in hiring special people.
My father has been very happy at Belmont! As family members, we know they have his best interests at heart. Their quick responses to a stroke and several falls have been truly lifesaving. We appreciate the many services that he can use, including podiatry and a nurse practitioner. While my father does not avail himself of many social activities, they are always making available theme parties, outings and celebrations.
