The Commons at Union Ranch

I volunteered here for 15 yrs helping in activities. 3 years ago I married someone from here and we live here together now. The staff here are excellent and I would like to honor 1 particular person. Espie Valdez has helped us so much, she even helped with the wedding. I cannot praise her enough. She will go out of her way to help people and she always has a smile on her face. I absolutely love living at the Commons! The Staff here are truly the best--always pleasant, friendly, and smiling. They go above and beyond to make residents feel welcome and cared for. By far, this is the best team I've ever come across, and I'm so glad to call this place home. Barbara Z.

In my opinion these folks are the best in the business. My Mom needed a place to live after she was physically unable to stay in her home of 65 years. We moved her in using a wheelchair and needless to say it, was a difficult adjustment. From the first hour she was there she was welcomed and assured that they can and will help her adjust and thrive in her new home. They have consistently been patient and kind with our entire family. The staff, from the wait staff in the restaurant, housekeeping, front desk (Grace and Espie and all others), med techs, Chefs, business office, and EVERY member of the team has treated her with respect and care. She now walks around the entire facility daily, including outdoor walks and the beauty shop, and has a growing social life. Deanna told me she would be in good hands, and she has delivered on that promise. The attitude of every staff member is that we are all caregivers and can help make sure she is happy and safe. They have hit it out of the park as far as I’m concerned.

I would like to recognize DeAnna from The Commons at Union Ranch. She is the most loving, caring, and gentle woman I know. This past weekend she hosted an event for My group called Compassionate Friends (parents that have lost a child) with a beautiful Butterfly release ceremony. She also provided a luncheon and music. We wanted to share our thoughts and takeaways from our tour. My wife and I were helping (4) other siblings tour different Assisted Living Facilities looking for a place for our 96 year old Father and Mother. Dad's needs are more of the physical and Mom's needs are more memory care. As we pulled up, the facility looked clean and felt like the building fit the surrounding environment, not out of place. When we entered the building there was a wonderful sign welcoming us to The Commons, and a staff member greeted Us. Our first impression of the interior was a very bright and open and an inviting place. Meeting with DeAnna in her office, we shared the needs and concerns for both Dad and Mom. She answered our questions clearly along with providing us the materials and information for us to take back to family. The staff seemed very attentive and engaged with the residents who were out and about in many of the sitting areas or at the tables in the dining area. Again, very comfortable feeling, open and lots of windows letting in the sunlight. Loved the activity calendar posted with all of the current and upcoming activities available. The resident rooms looked nice and bright and good sized. The memory care section felt every bit as open and inviting and secure. We stayed for lunch and looking at the menu there were many options to choose from. The food was delicious and fresh and portion sizes very nice. All of this information was shared with my siblings after the tour. I told them we really liked the Commons but also understood that they may have other places they also liked which were closer to the Bay Area where Dad and Mom live. In closing, if a family is looking for a wonderful place in and or around the Manteca area we would highly recommend you seriously give The Commons at Union Ranch consideration. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Rich & Renee C.
