We like the staff at Harmony, they are friendly and helpful. The new executive director Jennifer is amazing to watch in action. We like the convenient location; doctor appointments, pharmacy and grocery store are not far away. Our grandchildren and great-grandchildren love the treats and corn hole and pool table! There is an exercise room and other services so I was able to take physical therapy in my own building and ride the bicycle three times a week. Last but not least, we like the food! It feels good to have made the right choice–Harmony! :D
Our Mom is thriving!!!! She loves her fellow residents, the delicious meals, and the wonderful activities. Her favorite is Happy Hour in the Pub every Tuesday and Friday. She loves the live music. She was reluctant to move. Now she is very happy that she made that choice. It has been wonderful watching her reengage with activities and enjoy herself in a safe, stress-free environment
My parents found a true sanctuary at Harmony. After my dad passed away, my mom chose to move closer to her sister, yet the love for Harmony remains in her heart. She stays connected with many residents and staff, cherishing the incredible support they provided. Harmony was a beacon of kindness and assistance for my parents, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone searching for a nurturing home for themselves or their loved ones.
Had another great night sharing music with the residents at Harmony! Always good to see a great lineup of entertainment and events that the residents have going on, and always great to see some familiar faces, and new ones, in the crowd each time. Big thanks to Krystal Stephens for working with us to make the best happy hours events for everyone - we always have a great time!
Do not, under any circumstances, allow your loved one to move into this facility. They are chronically understaffed, have had between seven and 10 executive directors in the last few years, and have had about five healthcare directors in the same timespan. Any time they get a halfway decent ED or HD in the building, they leave months later. The current ED and HD are absolutely awful. The company underpays its CNAs, which means that even the good ones that they get don't stay there very long. This leads to your loved one being cared for by service CNAs who have no idea what they're doing. They have your loved one pay for a pendant that they can supposedly push to receive help, but that help rarely shows up in less than 45 minutes, and sometimes takes as long as two hours. That pendant is supposed to send a signal to a walkie-talkie that a resident needs assistance. On one recent night, a CNA admitted that they didn't have any working walkies. They're lucky no one died as a result of this negligence. Most importantly, they are in the process of actively pushing higher care residents (even if they signed contracts to live there while needing that higher level of care) out the door by lying about their needs and making it very, very difficult to return after a hospital stay. There ARE good people who work and live there, and the building itself is very nice, but the negatives far outweigh the positives. Simply put, there are better options in the area, and some of them are actually less expensive. We have moved my mother into one of those other options, and she's finally able to relax and enjoy herself rather than having to look over her shoulder to make sure the administration isn't trying to push her out the door. Edited to add: AND, despite my mother not living there for more than a year now, they keep sending a bill to her for $700. Her apartment was clean, undamaged, and received a sign-off from the facility when she moved out. Despite several calls and emails asking about it, no one will explain what this bill is for, and the bill itself is not clear. The aggravation continues! Another edit: They actually sent that mysterious $700 bill to a debt collector to try to get money from my mother. I explained to the collector that my mother had automatic withdrawal for her bills, so it's basically impossible that she forgot to pay something. The bill collector quietly acknowledged this, said they'd talk to their client about it. Miraculously no one has harassed us for that money since.
