Morganton Long Term Care

Incompetent management. Staff training is questionable. Most of the staff has resigned. Many safety concerns for residents and staff that remain. Dozens upon dozens of DSS facility/safety/personnel violations. Thousands of dollars of DSS fines. Lowest state rated assisted living facility in Burke County, NC. Has beds for 60+ residents. Most have been moved to other facilities. Less than 6 residents remain at Morganton Long Term Care, and the ones who remain are currently seeking a transfer to another, safer facility with the assistance of Burke County DSS. If your intention is to keep your loved one in Burke County NC, strongly recommend to seek an alternate facility. Recent positive reviews are by staff.

Always go with the first impression! Walked in, staff was standing at the nurse station, not one of the 4 staff greeted me. Not having a clue, who I was! I ask the Nurse, was Lisa there.....she pointed at the lady behind me. I said, hi I wanted to fill out an application. She said, "yea" When I tell you the rudely nurse and the so called supervisor that is allowed to Hire people, this has got to be a joke. I just wanted to speak with Lisa about a job. I'm pretty sure they need help but, I would never walk back in that facility again. No one considered walking me to let me out the door. I had to ask, what is the code to get out the door? The rude nurse yells the code to me.........WOW

PLEASE! IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER THAT YOU LOVE, PLEASE DON'T PLACE THEM HERE AT MORGANTON LONG TERM CARE, 151 SOUTH VIEW ST. , MORGANTON, NC Both of my parent where here and fortunately they were in their right mind or who knows what they may have been subjected to. These patients were mistreated by the owner not the under paid staff! I talked to some of them and was told how their family was treated by her. My parents, especially my Dad was treated well by the aides, they all loved him but even tho' he never told me, I learned that he never cared for the owners. He was very intelligent and everyone simply loved him! My Mom was a little more feisty! Lol I learned to that they would use my parents medications/supplies for other residents that were out and we were paying out the rear for their needs. They ordered through Hudson Drug at that time and we covered the bill each month. Many residents didn't have the luxury of a 'paying' family member so my parents got to supply them also at our expense. The food was horrible as I came to see them often at meal time. The only meat served was chicken thighs, but most of the time, pinto beans were substituted for meat/protein. I tried to bring them meals as often as I could so they wouldn't have to eat that nasty food. I was even told by one of the cooks that they used the potato peels to make them go further. That came from the kitchen staff. Honestly! But even though I would have never dreamed that anyone could be so evil as to not call their children in when their parents were dying, it happened. I was told by one staff that my Dad begged and pleaded for them to call us on a Sunday night because he knew he was dying! They refused (owners) to do so and said that if any of the staff notified us, they would be fired! So needless to say I never got to say' Goodbye' and that I loved them! Something that I would never have to opportunity to do again! They certainly have a lot to answer for one day! So again, if you love your parent(s), grandparent(s), etc., please don't even consider this place for them to live out their last days.

Good facility. Like all the others not enough help and the ones there are worked to death for little pay.
