Barton House

Barton House has been a steady and compassionate presence in our family’s journey. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, and they’ve consistently shown respect for both the residents and their families. Communication is clear, and they’ve been receptive to feedback, which has made coordination much smoother. The environment feels safe, clean, and thoughtfully managed. We’ve appreciated the continuity of care and the genuine kindness shown to our mother. It’s not easy to find a place that balances professionalism with heart, but Barton House does it well.

I truly appreciate all the care and concern that director Melanie puts into the daily details needed for resident safety and the lovely living environment at Barton House. There is a family like community among the residents and the activities are thoughtfully planned. .

I appreciate the care my mom is receiving at Barton House. Both the executive director Melanie Wallace and new director of nursing Angela are experienced and accessible to families. They have guided us with skill and compassion through this difficult transition. Barton House is a dementia-specific facility, with monthly training in dementia strategies for staff. They offer on-site medical care, including psych consults, and host a monthly support group for families. Barton House is not fancy, but more home-like, with a one-level design in which every room opens to a central gathering space (no long hallways), a kitchen bar for activities/snacks, and a peaceful, wooded lot. There is a lot of live music. The food and decor might be better in luxury facilities, but I am happy to trade that for a team who understands dementia and is willing to meet families where they are on the journey.

Barton House was the third facility that we tried for my mom who has dementia. We have been so pleased with the excellent service and care given to my sweet mom. They communicate effectively, provide outstanding activities that include the families and simply do an amazing job with overall. I could not have asked for a better home for my mother. The best memory care facility ever!!

I feel so blessed to have found Barton House. My Dad is well taken care of and I know how compassionate all of the staff are that meet his every need. They go above and beyond. The activities are excellent and keep him engaged and he enjoys all of the snacks and meals and regular festivities. We are so grateful!
