Grounded in enduring values At Friendsview, we are committed to creating a culture where residents and team members flourish. We offer meaningful work, supportive leadership, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a lasting difference every day. Quakers (also known as Friends) are often credited with opening the very first continuing care retirement community (CCRC) over 100 years ago. With our Quaker heritage, Friendsview has continued this tradition as the only privately owned, not-for-profit Type A Life Plan Community in the state of Oregon. And from our very first day to today, we are committed to being a community that values dignity, compassion, and excellence. It all started for us in the 1950’s when a group of Friends expressed the desire to provide person-centered, affordable care to seniors within the community. Charles Beals, as the first Executive Director, led the way, ensuring that our doors opened in 1961. We were the only “high-rise” building with an elevator at the time! In our six decades (and counting) of operation, we’ve remained true to our initial mission with local leadership that have kept us financially stable as we grow our community. We continue to strive to honor our deep roots with intergenerational connections with George Fox University students, educational programming, arts and cultural workshops, plus so much more.
