Lasell Village

I can tell you a number of reasons why I chose Lasell Village. The foremost one is to have the assurance that I can count on the Lasell administrative staff for help and support in time of need. I have two testimonials based on two recent events. Less than two months ago, I found out someone forged my out-of-state driver’s license to buy a vehicle on loan, and defaulted on the payments. After many lengthy but futile efforts to deal with the issue myself, I asked one of the social workers at Lasell for help. Without delay, she contacted the Campus police. Two officers came immediately. Upon a detailed interview with me, they filed a comprehensive report for a police detective to investigate the case. Within a week, my credit issue was cleared. Among many services at Lasell, the food service is indisputably outstanding. For the lunar new year, I organized a party of 16 people with our in-house food service. The Management not only accommodated extra workload but also made this special occasion a memorable experience. All in all, whether your family is nearby or three thousand miles away, you can make Lasell your home where you will feel safe and secure, as well as cared for and nurtured.

My parents live at Lasell Village and our entire family is very pleased. We did many years of planning and research for their retirement. We considered Boston area as well as homes further south in warmer climates. We researched home care, family care, and visited multiple residential communities. They enjoy a great deal of independence living in their own apartment while at the same time they have the benefits of additional care and services as needed. All of the amenities are designed with ease and safety in mind and they enjoy not having to worry about maintenance or repairs. The community is composed of very accomplished and interesting characters, full of professionals, artists, scientists, etc. It took them a few years to adapt to the environ full of an aging population, however, now they are settled in and very happy. The food is great. The staff is professional. The facilities are comprehensive. Both my parents are engaged and, despite health issues, doing quite well. As their children the village gives us a high level of confidence and ease that they are in great hands and any issues that may arise are immediately handled by professionals. I have grown to enjoy my visits more and more as I learn more about the village and meet its residents. I could not recommend Lasell more.

The low carb food was surprisingly good. Best clam chowder I ever had. PT/OT staff were very good and very pleasant. Rooms small but adequate. Place kept very warm even though some patients felt cold.

We moved from our large Victorian home of 46 years into Lasell Village and find our lives are exactly what we wanted and needed. The people are friendly, smart, and interesting. The participation and education requirements are easy to fulfill with the wonderful, diverse classes and activities provided. It’s easy to make friends. The staff is charming and effective. When my husband got blood clots in and around his heart, we were able to use the fine services of Lasell House during his recovery. All the staff, nurses, PT, OT, and more were wonderful to him and to me. He left after 5 days rather than the 2+ weeks we were expecting. He does very well at home and we expect full recovery. We love Lasell Village.

I moved to Lasell Village in June 2016 and have found it to be a congenial, interesting and helpful community. One can have independence as well as assistance if needed. The academic offerings are excellent, as are the facilities and staff for exercise. The Village is near public transportation but also offers car service to shopping and medical appointments for those who do not drive. Meals are excellent and there is always lively, friendly oompanionship. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Staff and management are caring and helpful.
