North Oaks Memory Care

Brookdale North Oaks Memory Care Facility has been an extremely disappointing experience for us. My husband transitioned from Brookdale, Palm Springs to Brookdale North Oaks, expecting the same level of care, but what we encountered was far from it. Despite paying over $12,000 per month, the facility failed to deliver the advertised services. The quality of care was extremely poor. Cleaning, brushing teeth, shaving, and changing clothes were often neglected. We even hired additional staff to ensure my husband received the attention he needed for up to 7 hours a day, but the basic tasks were still left unattended most of the time. Exercise was minimal, leading to my husband being placed in a wheelchair for easier handling. Medical attention was also subpar, with basic blood pressure checks and other tests rarely conducted. Ultimately, we had to move back to Brookdale, Palm Desert, which has been a night and day difference. Not only is the service vastly better, but it is also more affordable compared to North Oaks Memory Care. I would not recommend Brookdale North Oaks to anyone seeking reliable and compassionate care for their loved ones.

Thank you for making my Mom feel welcome at Brookdale and for encouraging her to engage in exercise and the other lovely activities that you organize each day. My Mom's activity level throughout the day improved as did her appetite and health. I think she felt empowered by walking to the eating area and exercise area, we also enjoyed the patios. Visiting my Mom at Brookdale, seeing that she dressed every day and more active made visits was so wonderful and provided us with great comfort. Thanks to all of the friendly staff and also allowing visits from pets:)

My mom lived at the North Oaks residence for 10 years and just passed away last week. The exceptional care and attention she received here by the loving care givers, we believe extended her life by many years. The staff became an extended family to my mom and to us. This was the third assisted living place where mom lived, but the only place where when I left her after a visit, I did not have to worry about her constantly and hope the staff was taking good care of her. Brookdale North Oaks has been a loving home for mom for a decade and provided me piece of mind over all those years that has been a invaluable gift to a child of a parent with dementia. I would recommend them to anyone who has a parent in need of exceptional memory care.

I moved my husband from another Alzheimer Care Center to Brookdale and was so glad I did. From the Executive Director to the PCA's, they know and care about their residents. The nursing staff is excellent. You can be a part of your loved one's care team: you are considered an asset not a nuisance. If you can't be involved, know your loved one will be included in all activities and looked after. You will have piece of mind.

I am a social worker that has worked with Brookdale for a couple years now. I recently had a resident move to Brookdale and have heard she loves it there and has wonderful care! Working with the Brookdale team on her move was so smooth and easy. They go the extra mile to get people moved in as fast and convenient as possible. Always a great experience working with Brookdale!
