United Methodist Communities at the Shores

My recently widowed mother moved from her home (with 24/7 caregivers) to an assisted living apartment at the Shores. She was greeted by a welcoming staff, the community as a whole, and the smaller “neighborhood” of folks living nearby on her floor. Her new friends, as well as her personal care support team, have helped her feel that the Shores is now home. Aside from the excellent personal care team, she appreciates the flexible dining plan and the options to attend scheduled activities or spend quiet time, whether in her rooms or in community spaces—all of which give her a sense of independence and the comfort to know that help is there if she needs it. Our family is most grateful too! The Shores is a beautiful facility both inside and out. The best I've ever seen.

We moved our mom to the assisted living 1 section in Feb 2024. It has been a wonderful experience. The staff is unbelievable. The wellness center staff is especially caring and communicative. The physical setting is warm and welcoming and doesn’t look like a facility, it’s bright and airy, the vibe is very positive! The apts are also very spacious, many have balcony’s and they aren’t studio apts so they feel homey, cozy and spacious!

My husband and I are thrilled with The Shores. My mother-in-law is currently a resident in the tapestry unit for memory impaired. My mom was also a resident there about 10 years ago. Many of the same staff members who cared for my mom are still there and give my mother-in-law the same love and kindness all these years later. Excellent care, safe environment, daily activities, delicious meals in a homey atmosphere make our family feel comfortable having our mom here. Staff is always available and open to phone calls, meetings or to help out in any way. They feel like family to us. We feel blessed after a day out with us, Mom is always happy to get back to her comfy little apartment at the Shores. Sue G.

This place has been such a wonderful experience for my father and my family. My father is 101 years old and was living on his own until he broke his hip in June. I was terrified at the thought of having him cared for by a facility and it’s staff and not myself and my family. Now that my father has been at The Shores since July, I can say with 100% confidence, I made the best choice ever.From day one, all of the staff have been amazing and kind and compassionate. The facility is beautiful, the food is excellent and the staff are wonderful. I cannot thank you enough, The Shores community!

My mother has been in The Tapestry unit at The Shores for the past 6 years, she turned 90 this year. The Director and her wonderful staff are so compassionate, well trained in dealing with people with dementia, they treat her like family. They play games, do crafts, sing a longs, exercise. The entire building is very clean and friendly from the moment you walk in the front door. As my mom’s sister tells me, “you gave your mother her life back,” by putting her at The Shores. It’s a good feeling knowing she is safe and well cared for and happy.
