Activcare Orange

My husband has been living at ActivCare Orange for a little over a year. He has moderately advanced Alzheimer's Disease and after taking care at him at home for 5 years, I realized that I needed to find a memory care facility for him. I toured a number of them in the Orange/Tustin/Yorba Linda area. When I saw ActivCare Orange, I had a very good feeling about it and made the difficult decision to move him in. I am so glad that I did. The facility is very nice and they offer lots of well thought out activities for the residents every day, but the people are the best part. I have gotten to know many of the nurses, caregivers, and other staff. They are great to work with and take very good care of my husband. It has taken so much stress off of me to know that they are there for him.

I would like to start this review by saying that I have never before written a review on Google for anything. But I feel compelled to do so at this time because I feel everyone looking for memory care for their family members should know what an incredible job ActivCare Orange did in taking care of my mother, who recently passed away. A brief background: My mother had previously been taken care of at home with 24/7 care for advanced dementia. As her condition deteriorated, she became violent, with frequent bouts of sundowning that forced the night caregivers to deal with her non-stop all night long. It had reached the point where caregivers were quitting from exhaustion. When we met with ActivCare Orange and I told them everything we dealt with and how I was concerned about their being able to handle her. They reassured me they specialized with this type of patient. Our experience with ActivCare Orange was as good as one could hope to have. They were attentive to my mother’s needs, patient with her when she was difficult, as well as excellent in their communication with my family, having several staff members contact me with appraisals and straightforward in their assessments of her. They were a great help in sorting out the insurance when the claim moved from her home to the facility. The facility was clean and welcoming. They followed our medical directive exactly as written, and because of them I know that my mother’s last few months were comfortable with loving, attentive staff to help her through each day. It is hard for me to overstate what a blessing ActivCare was to our family. If I could recommend with 6 stars or more I would.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at ActivCare Orange for the wonderful care they provided to my mother. Special thanks to Luciano, who always went out of his way to make sure things were taken care of properly. If I didn't need to move my mother cross country to be closer to family, ActivCare would be here home indefinitely. Clean, comfortable facility with respectful, compassionate nurses and caregivers.

Making the choice to move a loved one into memory care is a very difficult one. Moving my mother into ActivCare of Orange was the best decision I could have made. She is not only well taken care of, but genuinely happy, engaged in activities, and thriving! Quite honestly, she is nothing short of a miracle because of some major health issues she experienced just after she moved in. I attribute a considerable amount of her recovery to the attentive staff and detailed care she receives there. Finding the right fit for a family member experiencing memory impairment is very personal. I highly recommend taking a tour to see what they have to offer. It has made all the difference for my peace of mind as well as my family's.

My wife exhibited Alzheimer's 6 years ago and it was becoming apparent that she needed more care than I was able to provide in our home. My daughter and I visited many communities in Orange County but ActivCare Orange impressed us with the quality of care we saw during the tour. The staff has proven to be caring and easily accessible. Our family made a great decision by going with ActivCare Orange.
