Sunrise of Palos Park

I wouldn’t recommend this community if it were FREE. Everything that glitter isn’t gold. My mother had an awful experience here during her 3 month stay. It was an unclean, unsafe, unsanitary and unprofessional staff. The Executive Director lacks integrity and the Director of Nursing should be terminated immediately for poor job performance and negligence. They even stole my mother’s furniture. Unbelievable. If you love your loved one you’d be irresponsible to place them in the care of this facility. I was forced to file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Public Health. My mother was ALEAYS in a zombie like state of mind due to their excessive use and abuse of PRN’s. She has not used PRN’s in the past 3 weeks and she’s back to person we knew before admitting her to this community. IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR LOVED ONE YOU WOULD RUN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. Trust me, there are better options out there.

Interesting visit. I scheduled a tour but was escorted out without a tour. Gave the monthly pension amount for my brother which was below the monthly cost of care. She asked if siblings would assist with cost and I said no. Young lady assumed my brother had no other income (he has savings) and escorted me out. Oh well.

Love Sunrise Senior Living in Palos Park. The management and staff are amazing! The Caretakers are compassionate and caring to the residents. Fun events for holidays. Safe and clean atmosphere. Thank you!

Terrin , Jenna and the staff at Sunrise Senior Living are amazing. You can truly feel the care and dedication they put into everything they do. Terrin leads with heart, and it shows in how well the whole team takes care of the residents. We’re so grateful for them.

At first my father was not happy with Sunrise. The decor is very dated and the room he got had a really noisy furnace. I called corporate and they quickly replaced it, now he doesn't hear a sound. He didn't like how tiny the single room was so we upgraded him at an additional cost. Now he is very happy. He doesn't like the lack of salt in the food but he has high blood pressure. The staff has been excellent in tending to his every need and mine. When I took over care for my father it was a long process to get POA and the in house doctor helped with an assessment and everything to ensure we were covered (per my attorney) My only gripe is the cable service they use there is the worst. They use Dish Network and the poor residents don't get any local sports. This is the only thing that I have not been able to get fixed. Often channels go out for days and my father can barely use the remote since his vision is very poor. Very difficult for him to use streaming apps so he doesn't get to see his White Sox games. If you want a caring facility this is the place it's also not huge so they get to know the residence intimately. They constantly encourage my dad to participate in things, he does go on the casino trips, exercise class and has physical therapy. I do not regret moving my father into Sunrise Palos Park. Getting older is tough but they make it as easy as possible.
