Carlton Senior Living Pleasant Hill Downtown

When we accepted that we needed help with mom we started visiting the Assisted Livings within a 30 mile radius. Some, we walked in then back out again; others, we took the tour. We asked our friends who have parents or spouses living in AL's, endless questions of their experiences and knowledge of the various places and perhaps most importantly-what they wished they had known. Using their expertise and our interviews and tours helped us make an educated decision. The Carlton Downtown Pleasant Hill came out on top in every category. Mom has lived at The Carlton Downtown for over a year and a half now, and our expectations have been met or exceeded. They helped us navigate the move in period; mom felt/feels comfortable in the many social activities and was/is welcomed in various social groups; she is happy with the taste and variety of meals; loves how 'her' dining and living rooms look and that everyone greets her by name and a smile. I have been in the hall about to enter her room and have overheard staff talking with or helping mom and ALWAYS have only heard respectful and friendly exchanges. I have heard and seen only respect and tenderness from all the staff to the residents; the housekeepers, dining and kitchen, activities, front desk, office, even the fix it folks:) My mother calls them Angels-I need to get them sunglasses 'cause their Halos are so bright! They have helped us navigate the continuing changes mom experiences keeping the best quality of life possible. I also appreciate the quick response when I email or call with a question. Perhaps the best thing about my mom moving into the Carlton Downtown is I now have time to be her daughter again.

Carlton PH is an absolute amazing place for your loved ones. I am extremely particular and detailed about these services. Lisa Spivey is the best-in-class. We have been extremely pleased by the fantstic care and attention my brother has received over the past several years. He has been always been greeted and treated with dignity and respect by every staff member. While Covid has impacted our ability to visit, we have consistently been kept in the know re his care and well-being. His needs have always been satisfied and the communications have been timely and very professional. We recommend the Carlton Senior Living excellent staff and facility without reservation. JGS

My sister in law has been there for more than a year, and I have been nothing but impressed with Carlton--from our intake, to the cleanliness and housekeeping, to the activities, the people at the front desk, and even the dining room ! I'm a nurse and pretty particular about these things, so I would highly recommend any family member of yours living there !

Hello, My name is D.Lawhon I am here right now and I have to say I am discussed in the way the staff handles and talks to the PEOPLE that live here. I witnessed a young lady sitting behind you front desk verbally abusing a tenant. This poor woman was standing with no clothes on from the waist down and that awful thing had the nerve to argue with me. WRONG THING TO DO. So I stopped and said to the young lady, I hope you dont speak to my mother that way and do you know what she did, She tried to justify her reasons but in my opinion there is no reason for this sort of behavior. So I said to her what you're doing is wrong and you have to hold your composure no matter how upset you get you must hold your composure at all times being that you are sitting behind that desk representing this company you must do this I do not recommend this place I've seen things that I am not happy with if I could move my mother tonight I would please fix this
